With 7 teams in each group, 1 team would sit out each round. In Round 1 it was 3 Lions Touching Cloth but they would kick us off in the second round of fixtures having had a chance to size up their opposition from Round 1. They were up against JUBI Titans – it was a daunting task.

Although JUBI Titans had only one official appearance before (the 2017 Budapest Fives) a number of their players formed part of the Meglepetes team that took glory in the 2016 tournament. In 2017, they finished runners-up after a penalty shoot-out defeat. Already today, JUBI Titans had opened up with a 3-0 win.

It was to be two wins out of two for JUBI Titans as goals from Marton Patik and Peter Csanady put the Hungarians in control. At the other end, Daniel Laszlo already had one clean sheet to his name. Along with his defence, Daniel Laszlo went on to keep a second clean sheet.

Serene progress for JUBI Titans. Easier games to come for 3 Lions Touching Cloth.

Game 5 of Group B was to be GSF Drunkerz versus Mamarre FC.

GSF Drunkerz were currently enjoying an incredible unbeaten run in our tournaments that stretched back to 2015. They lost their 2 nd game of the group phase 2-1 to the A Team (Fra) and have since then gone 18 games unbeaten. Since then they have only been eliminated from our tournaments on penalty shoot-outs.

If they had been watching the opening game of Group B they will have seen that Mamarre FC would have posed a severe threat to that record. The Hungarian team had looked very good picking up a 1-0 win over FC Shaolin Badgers.

Mamarre FC were to repeat the feat here in Round 2 as a solitary goal from Daniel Sanchez earned all 3 points. GSF Drunkerz's amazing record was over.

To complete Round 2 we had Fiorentina Turner versus World Pinteur.

Fiorentina Turner made a promising debut at the 2017 Barcelona Fives. The ‘1' team produced 5 wins in 7 games which surprisingly only saw them finish fourth of eight teams – a tad harsh. They qualified for the Plate where 4-0 and 4-2 wins in the Quarters and Semis saw them reach a debut final. It was just one step too far as Lithuanian side LT United claimed the Plate victory.

The ‘2' team was equally as good in the group phase with 5 wins in 7 games. Their haul of 15 points was enough to finish second in Group C and qualify for the elite Cup competition. They left us at the Quarter-Final stage following a 2-0 defeat to Danish Dynamites. Fiorentina Turner will be a team to watch in this year's tournament.

Their second appearance was at the 2018 Mallorca Tournament. The ‘1' team produced 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat with the second best goal difference of the entire group phase (+11). They qualified for the Cup Quarter-Finals and produced a 3-1 win over Burritos. In the Semi-Finals they lost 3-1 to Ecuador 100.

The ‘2' team ended their group with 1 win, 2 draws and 2 defeats as they finished 5 th in their group but with an even goal difference. They progressed to the Plate competition where they drew 1-1 with Purnell Youth 2. They defeated their opponents 3-2 on penalties to reach the final. In the final they saw off 3 Lions to collect the trophy and winners' medals, 3-1.

So far today, Fiorentina Turner opened up with a 3-0 defeat. It was to be another defeat as Romain Ziat of World Pinteur scored the winner in a 1-0 win.
