Meglepetes were on a superb run in our tournaments.
In
2015, lost just 1 game (in the group) as they
went out in the Cup Semi-Finals (on pens).
In
2016, they were 7 games unbeaten (won the title)
In
2017, they were 6 games unbeaten (went out on
pens)
Including
today's 3 games, they were now 19 games without
defeat in normal time in the Budapest Fives since
they lost 1-0 to Csabagyongye in their third group
game on the 2015 Budapest Fives. It was a superb
record.
This
was potentially one of their most difficult ties
against the team they were locked at the top of
the table with on 9 points, Deportivo Dooradoyle.
It stated off well for the Hungarian team when
Peter Hegedus put his team 1-0 up. The Irish were
good for an equalizer though as Kevin Shine made
it 1-1.
Meglepetes
opened up a three point lead at the top of the
table when Peter Hegedus scored his second of
the game to win it for the home team, 2-1.
