So,
who would meet Cava Sundays in the Final? Would
it be FC Maroon for a first European Final or
Contejus Hurricanes for their second?
FC
Maroon as we touched on before were the favourites
in this competition with the best group record
of the teams but Contejus Hurricanes had been
here before and knew what it took to go all
the way in a knock-out competition. That experience
may have been pivotal as it was Contejus Hurricanes
who opened the scoring with Thomas Lock scoring
his third of the tournament.
FC
Maroon had one half of football to rescue their
quest for glory and avoid matching their sister
squad by going out at the same stage. If their
task was a tough one at the start of the second
half it got even more difficult when Joe Latimer's
goal made it 2-0 to Contejus Hurricanes.
As
it proved, there was no way back for FC Maroon.
It was farewell to both them and FC Dad. As
ever, these two teams were great value on tour
and we look forward to seeing them again sometime
soon.
