We arrived at the Plate Quarter-Final stage and we would shortly see eight teams reduced to four teams. To begin it was The A Team versus A Boro Fiuk. It was 3 rd placed in Group A versus 4th Placed in Group B and as such you would imagine The A Team were favourites as they had played in a eurofootballfives.com Cup Final as recently as the 2013 Krakow Trophy (September).

It was certainly a tough draw for A Boro Fiuk and one they found difficult right from the off. 2013 Krakow Trophy top goalscoer Dydynho was proving a handful as he bagged a brace in the opening half.

After the break he went on to complete his hat-trick before You made it 4-0 to The A Team. The French side were looking in ominous form and were safely through to the Semi-Finals.

Sadly, it was the end of the day for A Boro Fiuk – a fine performance from them in the group phase although they lacked a little luck.

The second Quarter-Final saw FC Radbroke take on Bozeat FC in what was to be an intriguing affair. FC Radbroke were not used to playing in the Plate as they had previously played in 5 Cup competitions, winning 2 of them. They were arguably favourites for the entire Plate competition. Bozeat FC had pedigree in this competition though having reached the Plate Final here 12 months ago.

It was a pretty close first half and the two teams were locked together at 0-0. Bozeat FC were proving admirable opposition for FC Radbroke but their resistance was broken in the second period when Mike Brandon opened the scoring. Pete Cox doubled the lead and FC Radbroke were seemingly on their way to the Semi-Final.

Bozeat FC were not to be written off just yet as Will Arnold bagged his third goal of the day to reduce arrears to 2-1. The goal was a little too late for Bozeat FC to rouse a thrilling comeback as the referee drew time on proceedings.

Bozeat FC's fourth eurofootballfives.com challenge had come to an end. We very much hope there is a fifth campaign in Europe to come.

It was not only a Hungarian derby in the 3rd Quarter-Final it was a Budapest one. It was not only a Budapest derby but a Budapest Celtic one as the Panthers met the Pumas. We knew there would be Budapest Celtic representation in the Semi-Final but who?

Looking at the two team records, the Panthers earned 8 points in the group phase with two wins, two draws and one defeat. The Pumas also had just one defeat but also just the one win with three draws and finishing with 6 points. Both teams had conceded just two goals in the group phase but the Panthers had scored 5 goals compared to the Pumas 2 goals. Could this extra firepower prove the difference in this match?

The game finished Budapest Celtic Panthers 3-1 Budapest Celtic Pumas with goals from Marvin Croft, Etienne Joeffret and Bastien Morel scoring the goals to send the Panthers through. Tobias Gustaffson scored the Pumas final goal of the day as they crashed out to their colleagues and sister squad.

The final Quarter-Final saw Hungary versus England as Meglepetes met LITS. Meglepetes were the defending champions in this competition and were unfortunate not to qualify for the Plate with a return of 10 points from their group campaign. LITS would also consider their group campaign unlucky with just the one defeat in 5 games but 3 draws arguably thwarted their progress to the higher Cup competition.

We enjoyed the highest scoring game of the round with four goals alone in the first half. Meglepetes enjoyed the lions share and they lead 3-1. They extended their lead after the break with three more goals between the teams. The final score was Megepetes 5 – 2 LITS.

The Hungarian team shared the goals around with Peter Hegedus (2), Mate Palmai, Peter Guzy and Kristof Lenart all scoring. Tony Russon and Alex Williamson scored the goals for LITS.

We'd like to thank LITS for choosing the Budapest Fives for their 2014 tour – in our opinion it was their strongest challenge yet.
