Round 3 started with Skidmarks taking on Meglepetes. Skidmarks had a 100% record and were aiming to make that 3 wins out of 3. Meglapetes had just picked up their first win of the day so would come into the game on a high.

What followed was the best game of Group D so far. It was end to end and the pendulum swung both ways. Lenart Kristoff gave Meglepetes the early lead and it was an advantage they were to hold until half-time.

It was the first time today that Skidmarks had been under pressure and they responded superbly. Neil Taylor first of all equalized and then put his team in front for a fine comeback. They were his 3 rd and 4 th goals of the day and at this early stage he was a contender for the Top Goalscorer award.

The match was not done though as Meglepetes hit back through Peter Hegedus and it finished 2-2. It was a great game and a result that saw Skidmarks preserve their 2 point lead at the top of the table (for now at least).

It was 5th versus 3rd when RS Ocean Village FC and Budapest Celtic Lions met in the game that took us past the half-way mark in Group D. The Lions were hitherto unbeaten and came into the game with one win, one draw. RS Ocean Village FC had suffered two defeats in a row and needed to arrest this run of results asap.

It did not start well for RS Ocean Village FC as the Lions continued their good form as Kantor Barnabas scored for the third consecutive game – a fine return. The goal gave them a 1-0 lead at the break. After the break the Lions bagged their second through Petr Szucs and at 2-0 the Lions were looking good.

RS Ocean Village FC were unable to respond and they slipped to their third defeat as they found life tough in Group D – the heat of the Hungarian sun with no subs was no doubt hindering their efforts.

It was a second victory for Budapest Celtic Lions who had now accumulated 7 points and joined Skidmarks at the top of Group D.

Bozeat FC and Contejus Hurricanes FC met in an all-England contest between the teams in 2nd and 6th position. Bozeat had the opportunity to make it a three way tie at the top of Group D if they could claim victory. The Hurricanes were looking for their first points to lift them off the bottom of the table.

Bozeat FC took the lead through Lee Saving and took the lead into half-time. After the break they were able to extend their lead to 2-0 through Will Arnold. Bozeat FC looked like they were on their way to their second three points of the day and that's the way it proved as they saw the game out to full-time. They joined Budapest Celtic Lions and Skidmarks at the top of Group D.

For Contejus Hurricanes it was defeat #3. When they won the Plate in the Algarve 2012 they were slow starters picking up in the knockout stages. Was this their tactic again?
