We began Group C with LITS versus FC Dad. In 2011, Longest In The Shower (L.I.T.S) and Shortest In The Shower (S.I.T.S) made their debuts in the Valencia Fives. L.I.T.S reached the Plate Semi-Finals before going out to eventual winners Kings Old Boys. S.I.T.S qualified for the Cup competition but went out to eventual Cup winners Skidmarks (who as we've seen are also competing in Budapest). In the 2013 Mallorca Fives the two teams had a tough ride in a strong competition and missed out on the knock-out stages. For Budapest, the teams have concentrated their powers into one squad – L.I.T.S.

FC Dad make their fourth eurofootballfives appearance in Budapest. Prague was the destination for their debut with us where they reached the Plate Quarter-Finals. They followed this up by playing in the 2012 Valencia Fives where they narrowly missed out on glory, losing 3-2 in the Trophy Final. In the 2013 Lisbon Tournament they had a great start with a 2-1 win over Hungary's Csabagyongye (also here in Budapest) before they struggled with results but were not outclassed with two narrow defeats. They finished 5 th in their 6 th team group and missed out on the knock-out stage.

With the game underway the first goal in Group C came from Steven Bennett of L.I.T.S and it proved to be the winning goal. Full-time, 1-0.

Match 2 in Group C saw Argentina (Arg) versus FC Radbroke (Eng). Argentina are the first team to represent Argentina in our tournaments. We have had Argentine players before – most notably Luiz Naufel who was the top goalscorer in the 2012 Barcelona Fives for Budapest Celtic Pumas with 15 goals in 6 games. They had a tough start today though.

FC Radbroke are looking for title #3 and are sure to be contenders. They were making their sixth eurofootballfives appearance in Budapest after a fine victories in the 2011 Prague Masters and 2013 Algarve Open. In previous tournaments they were only knocked out by other eurofootballfives.com winners – Bulgaria's Lozenetz City (Prague Masters 2009, Manchester Fives 2010) in the Cup Quarter-Finals of the 2009 Barca Fives and Spain's Futbol City in the Cup Semi-Finals of the 2010 Valencia Fives. This trend continued in the 2012 Mallorca Tournament when they went out in the Cup Quarter-Finals to eventual winners Cosegur Balear of Spain.

It was Argentina who drew first blood in this game as Ashkan Ahadi put his team 1-0 up. In the second half, FC Radbroke showed why they have won 2 tournaments in the past and hit back through Ray McDonald to earn a 1-1 draw.

The last two teams to get underway were Old Man Hortors Revival versus Budapest Celtic Tigers. Old Man Hortor Revivals rise from the ashes of Coverton Road who have disbanded after appearances in the 2011 Valencia Fives and 2013 Mallorca Fives. In Valencia they made it through to the Plate SF before bowing out. They were close to glory in Mallorca when they finished Runners-Up in the Plate competition after a narrow 1-0 loss to Son Gual (Spa).

The Tigers squad of Budapest Celtic has done well on home soil (well, home 3G) in the past finishing Runners-Up in the Cup in 2011 and 2012. They are also the most recent Celtic squad to pick up medals as they were Runners-Up in the 2014 Valencia Fives Plate just 2 weeks ago.

This was an evenly matched contest and there was nothing to split the teams. Half-time came and went, full-time came and went and we were still locked together at 0-0. It was a solid start for both teams in Group C.
