Old
Man Hortors Revival met FC Dad in the penultimate
game of Group C. We already knew that both these
teams would be playing in the Trophy this afternoon
but there was still much to play for in this
game – pride, 5 th position and a theoretically
easier Quarter-Final. The winner of the game
would finish in 5th. A draw would see Old Man
Hortors Revival take 5 th and FC Dad in 6th
.
FC
Dad struck first in the opening period as Graham
Dodds opened his personal account for the day.
It was only the fourth goal that Old Man Hortors
Revival had conceded (the same number as the
teams in 2nd to 4th position) but the lack of
firepower up front had held back their progress
today. They were yet to score and would have
to put that right in the second half to get
anything from this game.
The
goals remained elusive for Old Man Hortors Revival
and FC Dad completed the first victory of the
day. They jumped ahead of their opponents into
5th place – a good way to end the group phase.
