Round 3 started with FC Radbroke taking on Old Man Hortors Revival. Both teams were looking for the first victory of the day with the teams enjoying a combined 3 draws in the 4 games played to date. The teams sat in 4th and 5th position and another draw would be a real dampener on their campaign. A win was the order of the day.

A first half goal for Ray McDonald put FC Radbroke in the driving seat. Old Man Hortors Revival had so far played well defensively but goals had been hard to come by. They would need to break their duck to get anything out of this game.

FC Radbroke had only conceded one so far today and if they could keep another clean sheet their first win of the day was in the bag. The defence held firm and the game finished 1-0.

The result put FC Radbroke top of the table although the three teams below them had a game in hand. Old Man Hortors Revival remained in 5th position.

Due to FC Radbroke's win, it was 3rd versus 4th when LITS and Budapest Celtic Tigers met in the game that took us past the half-way mark in Group C. Both teams had one win and one draw to their name so far. Another draw would see them join FC Radbroke at the top but a win would give them sole occupancy of top spot and a two point lead.

So, there was plenty at stake. Both teams had yet to concede in the tournament so far and it was therefore no surprise that the first half ended goalless at 0-0. With the teams unable to be separated at half-time they were also unable to be separated at full-time – we did see goals though. Tony Russon scored LITS second of the competition and Jakob Binder scored Budapest Celtic Tigers third of the day. Final score, 1-1.

The two teams remained unbeaten and made a three-way tie at the top of Group C….although Argentina were lurking with a game in hand.

Argentina could go top by two clear points if they were to defeat FC Dad in the final fixture of Round 3. A draw would see them make a 4-team tie at the top of Group C. FC Dad were looking for their first points but a win here would put them within another victory of top. Group C was certainly a close affair.

It was an evenly contested opening period and the two teams turned around at the break, like so many games in Group C, all square at 0-0. FC Dad then forged ahead through David Crewdson.

Could this be FC Dad's first victory? Sadly for them it stung Argentina into action and Ashkan Ahadi levelled things at 1-1. It was then Argentina who took the lead 2-1 through Ashkan Ahadi again (his third of the tournament). The full-time whistle went and Argentina had pulled off a superb comeback.

It was a cruel result for FC Dad that left them in 6th position. Argentina were top of the table and for a top versus bottom clash to be so tight it proved what a tough group Group C was.
