Budapest Celtic Pumas were looking to make it two wins in two games at the start of Group A as they met The A Team in Round 2. The latter had also earned a victory in their first game and lead the embryonic table via goal difference as they searched for win #2 also.

The two teams looked evenly matched and defences were on top as they repelled their opponents attacks. We reached the half-time interval level at 0-0. A draw would not be the worst result in the world for either team at this stage particularly against good quality opponents. A win though would put them in pole position in the table.

Could either side forge ahead and get a winner? Not in this game as defences ended victorious as we finished goalless at 0-0. It was a point each and honours shared. Only time would tell if this was a point gained or two points dropped.

In the next game we had two teams looking for their first victory of the day. Johnsbridge FC had made a solid start despite defeat in their opening fixture. They would hope for another good performance if not the same result. Stanford FC by their own admission had struggled in their first game – could they put this right in Round 2?

They were certainly improved and the English teams engaged in a pretty even contest. The first-half came and went with no goals as the teams reached the break level.

Whilst a draw would obviously be better than a defeat a return of 1 point from a possible 6 would not be what the doctor ordered and both teams looked to turn 1 point into 3. The deadlock was eventually broken by Daniel Goodwin and it proved to be the only goal of the game. His strike earned Johnsbridge FC all 3 points and their first win of the day. Stanford FC slipped to defeat but were improving.

The final game of Round 2 was CIS Committee against Cava Sundays. CIS Committee could go two points clear at the top with victory or make it a three-way tie on 4 points with a draw. Cava Sundays were looking for their first points of the day and to bounce back from a narrow defeat in the 1 st Round of games.

As he had done in the first game Vitali Ledenev gave his side a first half lead. The task ahead of Cava Sundays had just become that much more difficult. There was no further damage before half-time and the teams turned round with the team from Belarus 1-0 up.

There was a touch of déjà vu for CIS as, just like in the first game, Aliaksandr Chaikouski added a second goal in the second half to double his team's advantage. CIS were looking very organised and went on to complete a second clean sheet and a second 2-0 win. They were top of the table.

Cava Sundays sat in 5th position but still had 3 games left to kickstart their campaign.
