We have yet to give a full preview of CAP FC so let's address that now. They enjoyed an impressive debut at the 2016 Riga Tournament. They went through the group phase undefeated with 2 wins and 3 draws. They started off with a sensational 3-1 win over the eventual winners and 2013 Mallorca Fives champions, L'Albiceleste, who were also here in Barcelona. Three successive draws followed before finishing the group on a high with a 2-0 win over FC Shark.

They finished second behind the eventual champions L'Albiceleste (Fra). In the Cup Quarter-Finals they despatched FK Prienai back to Lithuania before a 2-2 draw with Latvian side Leilupe in the Semi-Finals. The game went to penalties and CAP FC succumbed 3-2 to miss out on a debut Cup Final.

Here in Barcelona, CAP FC had been dealt a tough draw opening up against Galacticos and Naranjitos. In Round 3 they picked up their first win – could this be the catalyst for their 2017 Barcelona Fives campaign?

They faced a Fiorentina Turner 1 team who opened up with a defeat to LT United but followed this up with 6 points from 6. It was they who opened the scoring as Matt Carpenter put his team ahead. After that it was Harry Boys who took centre stage. He doubled the lead to make it 2-0 to Fiorentina Turner 1. His second of the game made it 3-0 and he went on to complete a hat-trick as Fiorentina Turner 1 ran out 4-0 victors.

Fiorentina Turner 1 were surging up the table and now sat in third position. CAP FC found themselves in fifth.

Galacticos had 3 wins from 3 and we are sure they would want to keep that momentum going on the field of play. However, Prospe FC's no-show meant they would have a rest on the sidelines as they collected their 3-0 walkover win.

The 15th game in Group B was Argon'ze versus Fail Madrid 2.

Argon'ze made their debut at the 2016 Barcelona Fives. They were drawn in the 8-team Group C and made a very solid start with two draws including a 0-0 against the eventual champions in their opening fixture. They then struggled with three defeats before a strong finish. They won their final two games (both 1-0) to finish in 5 th position. It meant they qualified for the Trophy knock-out phase where they departed at the Quarter-Final stage due to a 4-1 defeat to Spanish side Bolivar.

They then took 2 teams to the 2017 Mallorca Fives. The Argon'ze squad finished 3rd of 6 teams in Group C with 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats. They qualified for the Plate and defeated the Netherlands' FC De Rimmer 3-0 in the Quarter-Finals before a 2-1 defeat to another Dutch team, Mannenliefde, who had also accounted for their Ze'Argon sister squad.

These two teams were currently occupying sixth and seventh position so a win would be vital here to shoot up the table. The two teams looked fairly evenly matched and there was little to choose between the two teams – in terms of the score at least.

There would only be one goal in the game and it was unfortunate that it was an own goal that settled matters. It was a French own goal that benefitted Fail Madrid 2. The 1-0 win saw Fail Madrid 2 join CAP FC and Argon'ze on 3 points and a share of fifth place in the table.

All eyes were on Pitch D to see if Naranjitos could keep their incredible record going. They had now won their last 10 group games in the Barcelona Fives. This morning it was 3 wins, 8 goals scored and none conceded. They were up against LT United representing Lithuania.

LT United had been very impressive at the start of the tournament with 6 points from the first two games. There was then a narrow loss (1-0) against Galacticos who were joint top with Naranjitos. A win here would put LT United level with Naranjitos on 9 points and put them in the mix for Cup qualification. A defeat would see them fall 6 points behind Galacticos and Naranjitos and make qualifying for the Cup a difficult task.

This was a really close game between two quality and well organized teams. In the end there was just the one goal to separate the teams. It was Naranjitos who continued their good form and came out on top. Raul Salinero Perello scored the goal that ensured the 3 points would go to the Spanish team. Naranjitos were now on a roll with 3-0, 2-0, 3-0 and 1-0 wins but they slipped to second on goal difference.
