We
have yet to give a full preview of CAP FC so let's
address that now. They enjoyed an impressive debut
at the 2016 Riga Tournament. They went through
the group phase undefeated with 2 wins and 3 draws.
They started off with a sensational 3-1 win over
the eventual winners and 2013 Mallorca Fives champions,
L'Albiceleste, who were also here in Barcelona.
Three successive draws followed before finishing
the group on a high with a 2-0 win over FC Shark.
They
finished second behind the eventual champions
L'Albiceleste (Fra). In the Cup Quarter-Finals
they despatched FK Prienai back to Lithuania before
a 2-2 draw with Latvian side Leilupe in the Semi-Finals.
The game went to penalties and CAP FC succumbed
3-2 to miss out on a debut Cup Final.
Here
in Barcelona, CAP FC had been dealt a tough draw
opening up against Galacticos and Naranjitos.
In Round 3 they picked up their first win – could
this be the catalyst for their 2017 Barcelona
Fives campaign?
They
faced a Fiorentina Turner 1 team who opened up
with a defeat to LT United but followed this up
with 6 points from 6. It was they who opened the
scoring as Matt Carpenter put his team ahead.
After that it was Harry Boys who took centre stage.
He doubled the lead to make it 2-0 to Fiorentina
Turner 1. His second of the game made it 3-0 and
he went on to complete a hat-trick as Fiorentina
Turner 1 ran out 4-0 victors.
Fiorentina
Turner 1 were surging up the table and now sat
in third position. CAP FC found themselves in
fifth.
