At the start of Round 2 we had Sigurdsson's Advice Bureau versus Spider Mans & Eagle. Both teams kicked off with 3 points to their name.

Following the false start in Round 1, Sigurdsson's Advice Bureau would now make their full debut in our tournaments and it was a tough one against Spider Mans & Eagle. We looked at the Spider Mans & Eagle squad before the tournament and it was arguably one of their strongest. They had their 3 top goalscorers in our tournaments (Ryan Stevens, Nick McIntosh and Richard Eggleston) plus a good recognized goalkeeper in Ash Booth plus a strong supporting squad. This looked like a team capable of making their breakthrough tournament victory.

They followed up their opening victory with a second successive win here. Richard Eggleston scored his thirteenth goal in Europe which was far from unlucky for his team. Paul Williams opened his personal account for the day to make it 2-0. There was a second clean sheet for Ash Booth and things were looking very healthy for the Spider Mans squad.

Sigurdsson's Advice Bureau should not be too disappointed – all games would not be as difficult as this one.

L'Albiceleste made their debut in the 2012 Budapest Fives. They made a superb debut winning their 6-team group without defeat before a Cup Quarter-Final exit to Hungary's Budapest Celtic Lions, 1-0. For their second tournament in Valencia they secured sponsorship and a name change to Grant Thornton. They also topped their group and won their Cup Quarter-Final 3-1 versus Team Extreme before a 1-0 defeat to Ireland's Mestallaban in the Semi-Final. Then came Mallorca glory in 2013 after 6 wins and 1 draw in 7 games.

At the 2014 Berlin Fives they were on the glory trail again with 4 wins in 4 games in the group phase. They then suffered a 4-1 defeat to Multiple Scoregasms in the Semi-Final. After a brief hiatus in 2015 they returned to action in Riga 2016, which as we saw in Round 1, they emerged victorious to claim title #2.

On their last visit to Barcelona, CB Boys drew a tough group and finished 5 th before going out to eventual Plate winners (HMS Sultan FC) in the Quarter-Finals by the narrowest of margins, 3-2. They seemed to have drawn a tough group again with Spider Mans & Eagle and L'Albiceleste as their first two opponents.

On the pitch here L'Albiceleste continued their good run of form with Cedric Castarede and Fateh Bekhouche both amongst the goals. There was a second clean sheet for Mickael Martin as the team from Paris ran out 2-0 victors.

We must offer our huge apologies to Fylingdales FC at this stage. They were due to play Leek High Boys in Round 1 but they (Leek High Boys) were late so Fylingdales FC earned a 3-0 walkover win.

Bolivar also missed their first game but it had now emerged they would not be taking up their position in the tournament draw. So, Fylingdales picked up another 3-0 win.

This was obviously embarrassing for us as Fylingdales FC would have to wait to kick-off their tournament in earnest. They had 6 points in the bank but we are sure they will have preferred to earn those on the field of play.

Leek High Boys (Eng) were making a second successive trip to Barcelona. They made a great start to life in Europe at last year's event with a 1-0 win over Mavericks. They won 3 of their first 4 with only defeat to the then defending champions Club Esportiu Llefia. They had a couple of difficult games late in the group phase and went on to finish 4th in their 8 team group amassing 12 points along the way. In the knock-out phase they defeated Spain's Prospe FC on penalties in the Plate Quarter-Finals and New Zealand's Skackney FC in the Semi-Finals. They were through to a debut European final where they met Club Esportiu Llefia again. Sadly for them they lost again but did collect runners-up medals.

They would start this year's tournament with a handicap – we'll let you decide if the handicap was the hangover from last night or the 3 points conceded in their group game due to late arrival. They would play Ireland's Deportivo Dooradoyle in their first game on the pitch.

Deportivo Dooradoyle had lost their opener (2-0 to L'Albiceleste) and would have that sinking feeling again when they fell behind here. Daniel McGuinness scored the first of the tournament for Leek High Boys. Deportivo Dooradoyle then did not help themselves by scoring an own goal for 2-0. The English team then completed the win with a Tommy Coates goal. Final score, 3-0.
