Spider Mans & Eagle were back in action on Pitch A as they met Fylingdales FC. Spider Mans & Eagle were joint top of the table on 7 points with Fylingdales FC just a point behind.

This was Spider Mans & Eagle's third appearance of 2017. Their first of the year was at the 2017 Budapest Fives. A good performance in the group phase saw them finish in 2nd place with 10 points from a possible 15. They drew Budapest Celtic Hoops in the Quarter-Finals and were pipped, 2-1. Budapest Celtic Hoops went on to win the tournament.

They returned to compete in our inaugural Amsterdam Sixes. A couple of narrow 2-1 defeats were sprinkled amongst 3 comprehensive victories as they finished down in fourth despite a +11 goal difference. It meant they would qualify for the Plate. They defeated New Zealand's Skackney FC (2-0) and the Netherlands' Tommy Hilfiger (3-2) to lift their first eurofootballfives.com trophy.

Performances so far indicated that Spider Mans & Eagle were aiming higher here in Barcelona and the result of this game only confirmed those ambitions. Ryan Stevens got the ball rolling for 1-0 and then made it 2-0. Warren Whitmore's first goal of the day preceded Ryan Stevens' hat-trick goal for 4-0. Nick McIntosh scored his third of the day for 5-0 before Jon Newberry completed a 6-0 win. Newberry's goal was notable as it meant that all six outfield players had now scored today for Spider Mans.

It was a game to forget for Fylingdales FC but Spider Mans & Eagle marched on.

Leek High Boys were up next and were up against L'Albiceleste.

Leek High Boys had a mixed and varied morning – they had 1 win, 1 draw and 1 defeat. That defeat was one they conceded by late arrival. On the pitch itself they had 4 points from 6 with 4 goals scored and just 1 conceded.

With 7 points out of 9 so far, L'Albiceleste were surely aiming to capitalize on their solid start and qualify for the Cup as they hunted down their third eurofootballfives.com title. They were on a run of 10 unbeaten games in our tournaments (last defeat was 3-1 to CAP FC – Group A, Round 1, 2016 Riga Tournament).

This was a feisty and tetchy encounter. It was a battle in every sense of the word and L'Albiceleste's unbeaten record was in jeopardy when Leek High Boys took the lead through Tommy Coates. The lead did not last too long though as a Fateh Bekhouche goal put L'Albiceleste level at 1-1 which is how it finished.

Deportivo Dooradoyle made their debut at the 2011 Amsterdam Fives. They reached the Plate Quarter-Finals with success over Goals Aloud (Wal). In the Semi-Finals they were victorious 3-1 over CEPL of Holland (who'd later become 2012 Amsterdam Fives winners) before a narrow defeat in the final to Rigford Seahawks (also 2009 Krakow Trophy & 2012 Berlin Fives Cup winners and 2009 Prague Trophy Plate winners). In the 2012 Algarve Open they drew a tough group and finished 4 th to make the Plate again. Their day ended against French side CFC B at the Quarter-Final stage on this occasion.

In 2013, Barcelona was their destination of choice where they had a very successful day – they entered two teams and won both the Plate and Trophy competitions. Berlin was the destination of choice for 2014 and it was almost more success as they reached the Plate Final again. A tough fought 0-0 draw lead to a penalty shoot-out and Scandittack FC of Germany won the shoot-out 2-0. The 2015 Algarve Open saw two injury ravaged squads finish 5th and 6th in their groups before a Wooden Spoon win and a Plate Quarter-Final defeat.

As we've seen earlier in this report, at the 2015 Barcelona Fives they won two and lost two to finish third in Group D and qualify for the Plate. They defeated Saladmode FC 2-1 in the Quarter-Finals before their day was ended (1-0) by Hardly Athletic.

Today they had 2 defeats on the field of play. They would play a Sigurdsson's Advice Bureau team who would come into this game on a high after a morale-boosting last second winner against Fylingdales FC.

At the start of Round 4 Sigurdsson's Advice Bureau were only 1 point behind the top two and could potentially go top subject to other results. They got off to the perfect start in this one with Ben Davies giving them the lead. It was Ben Davies again who turned 1-0 into 2-0. Gavin Whitby-Lear scored his second in as many games to make it 3-0 and finish off a good win for Sigurdsson's Advice Bureau.

As it turned out with other results, Sigurdsson's Advice Bureau were now up to second in the table!

The final thing to wrap up in Round 4 was to chalk up CBD Boys 3-0 walkover win over Bolivar. It left the table looking like this……
