Group B began with Naranjitos versus Fail Madrid 2.

Fail Madrid were making their third eurofootballfives.com appearance and for the first time featured 2 teams. Different travelling groups split their teams up in different ways. Some divide their teams up hierarchically, some evenly and some at random. If this was a hierarchical structure then you would fancy this could be a tough opener for Fail Madrid.

Naranjitos had won their last 7 group games in Barcelona and had gone unbeaten in their last 10 group games at the Barcelona Fives. They were making their 7th eurofootballfives.com appearance and 4th consecutive appearance at the Barcelona Fives.

Naranjitos continued their good form by scoring 3 goals without reply. David Moya Aparicio scored their first of the 2017 tournament before Miguelito (Miguel Angel Escutia Lozano) doubled the lead. David Moya Aparicio then rounded off the scoring to complete the 3-0 win.

Group B continued with Fiorentina Turner 1 versus LT United. Both teams were on debut and about to mark their bow not only in Barcelona Fives competition but also eurofootballfives.com competition in general.

LT United seemed to take to European football like the proverbial duck to water. It was the Edgaras Buzas show at the start of this game as the Lithuanian #9 was proving to be a real threat in front of goal. He scored the opener that put LT United into the ascendency.

1-0 became 2-0 with Edgaras Buzas grabbing a second. He then put the game out of reach of the English team when he went on to complete his hat-trick. Both Buzas and LT United has announced themselves on the eurofootballfives.com stage in style.

Fiorentina Turner 1 would have the final say though as Danny Camm pulled it back to 3-1. He had the honour of scoring his team's first goal in Europe but, alas for them, on this occasion it was only to be a consolation.

On Pitch C we should have seen Argon'ze (Fra) versus Prospe FC (Spa). Prospe FC had competed in the previous three Barcelona Fives competitions but they had sadly let us down here by not showing up. Argon'ze would therefore collect a 3-0 walkover win.

Last but not least in Group B, it was Galacticos (Eng) versus CAP FC (Eng) on Pitch D. This looked a really tough opening game on paper as CAP FC came so close to reaching a debut Cup Final in the 24-team 2016 Riga Tournament. Only penalties prevented them in the Semi-Final shootout. Galacticos had appeared in 3 previous tournaments and reached a Cup Final, Cup Semi-Final and Cup Quarter-Final (penalty shoot-out exit).

It was Galacticos who made their mark first. Fazil Boodi scored the first of the tournament for his team. His goal was quickly followed by Yaaseen Patel who made it 2-0 and took the game away from CAP FC.

It was just the start Galacticos would have wished for. For CAP FC, there was still plenty of time in the group phase to kickstart their Barcelona Fives campaign.
