We were down to the final four teams in our debut Trophy competition and first up was FC Cobaltslautern versus Borussia Monchenhirschbach. FC Cobaltslautern had just seen off the highest ranked team in Quarter-Finals so would no doubt fancy their chances against a team who had a bye and would maybe be a bit rusty. The flip side of the coin though was Borussia Monchenhirschbach would be well rested which could be important come the final reckoning.

FC Cobaltslautern were no strangers to the knock-out stages of our tournaments and often this is when they raised their game and played their best football and one man who was having a great day was Alex Thomas who banged in goals number 8 and 9 of the day for him personally to give the CSF team a lead at the break though. They were not having it all their own way though as James Platt's 3rd goal of the day kept them in it at just 2-1 down and well within striking distance against a team who had conceded 24 goals in 6 previous games.

They'd concede another in this game too as Geoffrey Park opened his account for the day but FC Cobaltslautern had just enough in reserve as Thomas Mottram's strike meant they would clinch victory by the narrow margin of 3-2. It was the end of the road for Borussia Monchenhirschbach for today but we hope there will be future European adventures for them to come.

The second Semi-Final was an encounter between Big Gay Al's SSF and Hertha Beerlin who had just knocked out the Not SSF squad of the Big Gay Al party. Could they gain revenge for their tour colleagues or would it be stag weekend double whammy for Hertha Beerlin.

The Quarter-Final had proved to be a close affair so it would be fair to assume more of the same although Big Gay Al's SSF came into the came with huge momentum after a 7-0 win so could this carry them into the Final?

We reached half time and were none the wiser on who would meet FC Cobaltslautern as we were locked together at 1-1 thanks to a Tom Williams goal for Hertha and Alan Hitchcock's 5th of the day for Big Gay Al's SSF. The decisive blow was struck in the second period and it would be Tom Williams of Hertha Beerlin who would claim the glory as he sent his team into a European Final.

Big Gay Al would rue Hertha Berlin for knocking both their teams out….either that or thank them so they could put their feet up and enjoy the beer tent. We'd like to thank Alun for choosing to participate in our tournament for his stag weekend and trust one and all had a great day.
