Group B began with two debutant teams as German team Stadtrandkicker 08 took on the exotically named Bafta Boys of England. With neither teams having played before it was a blank canvas for the two teams to make a great first impression in eurofootballfives.com competition.

It was Pete Talbot of Bafta Boys who struck the opening blow to put the Bafta Boys in the ascendency. Joe Bardwell then doubled the advantage and Bafta Boys held a commanding lead at the break, 2-0.

The game was theirs to lose and although Stadtrandkicker 08's captain Thomas Theel grabbed a goal for the home team the result was never in doubt as John Douglas and Joe Bardwell again secured a solid 4-1 opening victory. It was a great start to the tournament for the English team.

Match 2 saw FC Cobaltslautern take on Big Gay Al's SSF. FC Cobaltslautern were the second team from the CSF – as we saw when introducing Energie Cobalt in Group A they were making their 10 th appearance and highly experienced in these tournaments.

Big Gay Al's SSF make it eurofootballfives.com experience number 3 after playing in the 2008 Premiership In…Portugal and 2009 Algarve Open where 3 squads were entered. They return in honour of Alun Chorlton's forthcoming wedding to make it a hat-trick of stag weekend appearances. In 2008, their ‘Liverpool' team finished 5th and in 2009 the most successful squad was their Top Gun & Weasel team who made it to the Plate Semi-Finals (before a defeat to the CSF!).

So, was revenge on the cards for Big Gay Al's SSF as some of that 2009 squad were making an appearance here. It was honours even at the break as the teams turned round all square at 1-1.

Alex Thomas was the goalscorer for FC Cobaltslautern who is a regular eurofootballfives.com scorer with his record return so far 8 goals in the 2008 Krakow Trophy (joint 4th in the tournament) and 6 goals in the 2009 Valencia Fives where he was 3rd in the tournament goalscoring charts. His account was up and running for Berlin 2012. It would not earn all 3 points though as Paul Blant's goal for Big Gay Al's SSF earned a draw with no addition to the scoreline in the second half.

The final teams in Group B to start their challenge were GBS Reds versus East Compton Eagles. Hailing from Prague, GBS Reds , formerly known as JNJ Global Services, make it eurofootballfives.com appearance number 8. They have previously made five Prague appearances, one in the 2010 Krakow Trophy and also the 2011 Amsterdam Fives. Having reached 3 successive Plate Semi-Finals, they finally conquered this hurdle in the 2010 Prague Trophy when they claimed the Plate Trophy. In their last two appearances they have made the Cup Quarter-Finals.

East Compton Eagles were making their debut having already seen their sister Seagulls squad start brightly in Group C. The Eagles were emulating their Seagulls counterparts by starting the quicker in this fixture as Sean McCullough broke the deadlock.

The Eagles took a 1-0 lead into the second half where Achille Anague was instrumental in a GBS Reds fightback but his goal was not enough to earn any points as Chris Catling's goal ensured that East Compton Eagles would finish 2-1 victors and start their campaign with a win.
