Group C was taking shape as we entered Round 4 with 3 teams opening a gap at the top. The first of those to take the field in this round were Rigford Seahawks as they took on Hertha Beerlin.

Hertha Beerlin had drawn 2 of their 3 games so far and although they needed points to jump up the table you feel they would probably take a point, if offered, against the Seahawks. The league leaders continued their early tournament form and took a 1-0 lead through Chris Howard and that's how it was at the end of the first period.

The second period was a good one for Hertha Beerlin and they certainly didn't let the Seahawks have it all their own way. Tom Williams got on the scoresheet for Beerlin but it wasn't quite enough to earn a draw as Wayne Hayes scored another vital goal – he'd bagged the winner against Sturm Holzwurm, the equalizer against the Seagulls and another winner in this one.

The 2-1 win would ensure Rigford Seahawks would go into the final group of games on top of Group C. Hertha Beerlin remained on two points but their play over the day so far arguably deserved a higher return.

It was the German derby in the next game as Sturm Holzwurm met Hasanheide Donkeys. The two host nation teams had both struggled so far and occupied 5th and 6th place going into the game. This was a chance for both to turn their fortunes around and a win would see the victors rise into 4th position.

A draw would not be much use for either team and would keep them in the bottom two but it was looking like being that way at the interval with the teams all square at 0-0. The second half did see goals, two of them in fact, and both of them went the way of the Donkeys with Adam Willis and then Evan Conflicted finding the net. The win put the Donkeys on 4 points and having lost their first two were now unbeaten in two. Things were looking up for them.

The final game of Round 4 in Group C would go a long way into deciding the Cup qualification places. Rigford Seahawks would be eagerly watching as if the Seagulls failed to win their place in the Cup was secure and in fact a draw would mean they would be crowned league winners. Shrewsbury Townsend could also secure their place in the Cup with a win. A draw would also make it very interesting for the two teams in this group as although East Compton Seagulls would remain a point behind Shrewsbury Townsend they had, in theory, an easier last game so the Cup qualification places would remain wide open.

This was a big game and Shrewsbury Townsend came into it on a fine run of form winning their last two, 5-0 and 5-0. They were on a roll and continued that form in this game as they quickly established a 3-1 lead by the break. In the second half they showed no signs of letting up and strengthened their advantage to 6-1. It was an incredible win and margin of victory in such an important game and against good quality opposition. After a slow start with a 0-0, Shrewsbury Townsend were rapidly becoming one of the teams to beat in this tournament.

They had Matty Horne (4) and Richard Deeming (2) to thank for their goals in this one. Rob Graham scored what proved to be a consolation for the Seagulls.
