GBS Reds were kicking us off again in the first game of a Round of fixtures and again they had the chance to go top and put the pressure on Bafta Boys and East Compton Eagles. The Czech's opponents in this one were German side Stadtrandkicker 08.

With the exception of their opening game, Stadtrandkicker 08 had so far been effective in their first halves of games and were proving to be tough opponents again in the first half here. They were holding GBS Reds to a 0-0 draw at half-time. In Round 3 of fixtures we alluded to the fact that the Germans had a small squad and, without taking anything away from GBS Reds, maybe that was a factor here as the second half proved totally different to the first half.

GBS Reds found their shooting boots, which had been pretty hot in the last two games, as Achille Anague continued his record of scoring in every game with 2 more here as Wilco Veldhuizen and Anis Ketab also added to their tally. Final score, 4-0.

FC Cobaltslautern's 4th game would be against the hitherto unbeaten East Compton Eagles. On paper this was a bottom versus top of the table clash and most neutrals would probably expect this to be a comfortable win for the Eagles especially as FC Cobaltslautern had slipped to 9-2 and 7-1 defeats in their last games.

The CSF are anything but predictable though. The 2011 Mallorca Tournament is a perfect example when they lost their opening games 2-0 and 4-0 and 3-1 down at half-time to eventual winners Policia Mallorca. On that occasion they stormed back to win 4-3, won their next game 3-2 before then losing to the bottom team 9-2. The CSF (FC Cobaltslautern) suddenly found their form and were proving a tough nut to crack for the East Compton Eagles and the teams went into half-time level at 1-1 thanks to Thomas Mottram's first of the day and another goal for the Eagle's Sean McCullough.

The second half remained just as tight but in the end the Eagles just had enough as they ran out narrow 2-1 victors with a second of the game for McCullough. It was a spirited and tidy performance from FC Cobaltslautern but, alas, no cigar.

East Compton Eagles would be glad to come out of the game with all three points and go back ahead of GBS Reds in the race to finish in the top two and thereby qualify for the Cup.

So, with GBS Reds and East Compton Eagles both claiming wins (although not easily) it was now the turn of Bafta Boys to keep up the pace and preserve their place at the top of Group B. Their opponents were Big Gay Al's SSF who, given results above, could now make the Plate at best but a win here would almost guarantee that.

Big Gay Al's SSF started with two draws before a defeat and with this game underway it looked like their downturn in form may continue. Their opponents, Bafta Boys, were looking a top quality outfit though and there was no shame in defeat here. Bafta Boys were proving relentless in their quest for the Group B title and ruthless in putting away their opponents. They raced to a 4-0 lead by half-time and continued their onslaught in the second period as they eventually won 7-0.

The key marksmen in the win were Joe Bardwell (4) and Pete Talbot (2) with the opening goal of the game being a first tournament goal for Dirk Rondhout. Bafta Boys remained top, Big Gay Al's SSF remained 4th.
