FC Mahou had not needed much help in the day's tournament as they had secured top spot with a 100% record. However, they were helped on their way with a 3-0 walkover victory over Poppy's NFI.

Round 4 of Group A began on the field of play with the two teams in second and third place in Group A meeting face to face. Stilton Rovers currently occupied second position on 6 points with Blue Water CF one position behind on 4 points. A win for Stilton Rovers here would secure Cup qualification with a game to spare. A draw would keep them in pole position to make the Cup but with some work to do going into the final round. A win for Blue Water CF would lift them into second place and mean Cup qualification was in their own hands - although, their final game was due to be against FC Mahou.

It was Blue Water FC who hit the front thanks to a strike from Mazio O'Connor. It was a lead that the Spanish team retained until the break. The pressure was on Stilton Rovers – what could they produce in the second half?

A pretty decent comeback is the answer. They ran in three goals in the second half. Peter Ciezak scoring in clusters today – an earlier hat-trick and now a brace in this match. Stephen Green then scored his second of the tournament which ultimately proved to be the decisive strike. Augusto Gonzalez Bigliano also found the net for Blue Water CF in the second half so it was Stilton Rovers who claimed a 3-2 win.

Up next on Pitch D was WEEDS Youth versus Dickie Dogs. Both teams could still make the Cup but they needed to take maximum points from hereon in (this game was being played at the same time as the one above so they would not know the Stilton Rovers result). The teams currently occupied fourth and fifth spot so even if Cup qualification wasn't ultimately possible the result of this fixture could make a decisive contribution to these two teams chances of qualifying for the Plate or potentially being eliminated.

Dickie Dogs played here in Mallorca when the Veterans Tournament last visited in 2014 and arguably it was their best display to date. They got off to a cracking start with a 2-0 win over Norton Old Boys before a 0-0 draw with Son Veri Vets. They suffered a 4-0 setback to twice Cup runners-up The Blackouts of Ireland but recovered to get a 1-1 draw with Palmesanos. It meant they secured third place and went through to the Plate Semi-Finals. They recorded a huge 7-0 win over Old Bromleians to earn a first European final. They missed out on the ultimate honours 2-1 to €agles 3:36.

It looked they may well be heading into the Plate again this year – although they still had work to do. WEEDS Youth came into this game boosted by their 1-0 victory last time out and the teams played out a pretty close contest. The match finished 1-1 as goals from Graeme Spinks (WEEDS Youth) and Paul Hillier (Dickie Dogs) cancelled each other out.
