So,
who would meet FC Maroon in the Final? Would
it be Aliance or Riga United. The only thing
we knew for sure was that it would be an England
v Latvia final.
Aliance
had enjoyed an extended lunch break due to the
withdrawal of The Crazy Gang. Would that extra
rest work in their favour – time to rest legs
and lungs. Alternatively, would it work against
them as muscles stiffened and they potentially
lose their rhythm. Riga United had warmed up
nicely for this tie with an enthralling 7-5
win over It's Back.
It
was clear from the early stages of this one
that there would be only one winner. Arturs
Miezitis put Aliance 1-0 up in the very first
minute and it was 2-0 in the third minute when
Matiss Spaile scored. Spaile added his second
of the game to make it 3-0 at half-time.
The
pattern of the second half continued as Arturs
Miezitis scored early again for 4-0. Atis Legladines
scored for the second game running to reduce
arrears to 4-1 but it was a mere blip for Aliance.
Aliance went on to add four more through Uldis
Aliks, Arturs Miezitis (2) and Edgars Polkovs
as they were convincing 8-1 winners.
