Round 3 started with Drunken DisAudley FC taking on Riga United. The teams sat in third and fifth position at the start of Round 3. Drunken DisAudley's tournament was taking on a remarkable symmetry to their Algarve appearance 15 months ago. Then, they went win-loss-win. Today, they were win-loss-??

Riga United has just picked up their first point of the day and would hope their first win of the day would not be too far behind. For much of the first half they went toe to toe with their English opponents. It looked like we were heading for 0-0 until Iain McConachie put Drunken DisAudley 1-0 up before the break.

In the second half Matt Eagle doubled the lead to make it 2-0 and when Gareth Thomas made it 3-0 the points were in the bag. As with the 2015 Algarve Open, Drunken DisAudley had now gone win-loss-win. More importantly for today, they moved into a share of the lead at the top of Group C (although Cruz Del Sur A did have a game in hand).

We went into Game 8 of Group C with Red Cow Belgrade due to meet Cruz Del Sur A. The two teams both appeared at the 2013 Budapest Fives although didn't meet on that occasion. Cruz Del Sur had the advantage in Budapest with both their teams progressing further than Red Cow Belgrade. Today, the two teams were doing rather well. At the start of Round 3 they were in first and second position and both enjoying their best starts to a eurofootballfives.com competition.

The winner of this game would go a long way to securing their place in the Cup. Cruz Del Sur could open up a three point lead at the top, Red Cow Belgrade could open up a 1 point lead.

Cruz Del Sur had won both their games 1-0 to date but in this one they were to push the boat out. They more than doubled their tournament haul of goals in the first half as they lead 3-0 at the break. In the second half they increased their 3-0 lead to 5-1. There was a quick-fire hat-trick for captain Lewis Henson to add to a brace from Thomas Obafemi (that took him to three for the tournament).

Red Cow Belgrade briefly threatened a comeback when they reduced the Cruz Del Sur A lead to 3-1 but Joe Howitt's fourth goal of the tournament could not prevent his side being on the wrong side of this result.

We mentioned in Round 1 we would preview One Calamski in more detail here. They are part of the Bure Park Old Boys team who hold a rich eurofootballfives.com tradition dating back to the 2009 Prague Trophy and they have been ever-present since. After Prague they made a hat-trick of Valencia appearances from 2010 to 2012. Their achievements include a Plate Runners-Up medals (as Karma FC) in the 2010 Valencia Fives, the 2011 Wooden Spoon title (as Karma FC), claiming the 2012 Valencia Fives Trophy title (as Sporting Abeergut) and also a Cup Quarter-Final (as Saga Louts) in the same tournament before losing to the eventual winners – FC Miracle of Hungary.

In 2013, they swapped the fields of Valencia for the fields of Krakow with two squads – Saga Louts (5th in Group A) and Team Karma (4th in Group B) with Saga Louts going all the way to the Plate Final. They lead 3-0 at one stage but were hauled in by Awiw and eventually defeated on penalties. At the 2014 Bratislava Fives they competed as Saga Louts and Frankie's Footballing Fantasy with the teams finishing 4th and 3rd in their respective groups. Both teams qualified for the Plate Quarter-Finals – Frankie's Footballing Fantasy went out on penalties and Saga Louts went out to GSF Drunkerz (who eventually won the Plate and then the overall 2015 Bratislava Fives).

Their most recent appearance was at the 2015 Lisbon Tournament where Wheres Dave? drew a particularly tough group and finished 6th going onto the TrophySemi-Finals where they lost 1-0 to Red Cow Belgrage. Saga Louts fared better in the group finishing 4th to qualify for the Plate. They lost in the Plate Quarter-Finals who went on to win the Plate (and also the Plate at the 2016 Prague Tournament).

Their third game in Riga was to be against Factset with both teams having picked up their first point in Round 2. Could either team build on that point and kick-start their tournament campaign?

It looked like Factset would be that team as they struck early through Andrey Rijonem, Towards the end of the half Sandis Jihons doubled the lead before another Andrey Rijonem goal put them in control. It was 3-0 at the break. In the second half Andrey Rijonem went on to complete his hat-trick and complete a 4-0 win.
