Next
up was Fail Madrid versus Aliance. We are delighted
to welcome back Fail Madrid (Eng) to eurofootballfives.com
action after they made a debut in 2015. They
travelled to the Berlin Fives where they finished
5th in their group and were unlucky to do so
with a goal difference of just -3 so they were
competitive throughout. They qualified for the
Plate and picked up a 1-0 win over Coverton
Road before a 1-1 draw with Tommie's Guns in
the Semi-Finals. Their tournament ended here
though after a 3-2 penalty shoot-out defeat.
Aliance,
representing the home nation of Latvia, were
marking their debut in eurofootballfives.com
competition. The home team got off to the perfect
start with a goal in the first minute of the
game through Maris Roze.
In
the second half Ollie Begbie equalised only
for Maris Roze to restore the Aliance lead at
2-1. Neil Hargraves quickly levelled for 2-2
and the game looked like it may end in a draw.
That was until James Boshier popped up in the
final minute to hit a winner. Final score, 3-2
to Fail Madrid.
