Melee FC were next in action and they were on a fine run of form. They were unbeaten in three games and on a run of 7 points from 9 games. They had scored 6 goals with just 2 conceded in reply. This was their best start to a tournament since the 2013 Barcelona Fives where they reeled off 3 consecutive wins on the spin. They would now meet FC Maroon in Game 10 of Group B.

This was a little bit of a David & Goliath match on paper – Melee FC were Goliath, one of four giants battling it out at the top of the table. FC Maroon were David searching out their first points of the day. FC Maroon made a good start to the game and particularly defensively as they held their opponents to a 0-0 score.

Melee FC had been in a similar position earlier in the morning when they were held to a 0-0 draw at half-time against a team they were fancied to beat. On that occasion they wore their opponents (The Crazy Gang) down in the second half and went on to win 3-0. FC Maroon were proving a tougher nut to crack.

The sands of time ran out on the game and FC Maroon had held Melee FC to a 0-0 draw – a great result. In the context of the group the result probably didn't effect FC Maroon's fate too much but it was a potentially damaging result for Melee FC giving hope to the other three teams around them.

Yac Club versus FK Prienai Lithuania would complete Round 4 and was a crucial game in the race for Cup qualification. The two teams sat in first and in third position before Round 4 but, due to other results above, now occupied third and fourth positions. So, the result of this game would go a long way to seeing who would progress to the elite Cup knock-out competition and who would have to settle for the Plate.

Should Yac Club win then they would move joint top with Zemniecki but a loss would leave them in 4th place and 3 points off Cup qualification. A draw would see them stay in 4th position but just 2 points from making the Cup. For FK Prienai, a win would see them move a point clear at the top, a loss would see them slip to fourth place and a draw would see them share second place just 1 point from the summit. It really was getting very tight in Group B.

It was FK Prienai Lithuania who struck an early blow in the second minute of the game – a goal that gave them a cushion and allowed them to dictate the course of the game. Donatas Dainauskas scored the goal which was his third of the tournament. There was no addition to the score in the opening period and we changed ends at 1-0.

The game remained 1-0 until midway through the second half when Tadas Simanaitis doubled the lead for the Lithuanians. 2-0 became 3-0 shortly after when Remigijus Gaizius scored to give FK Prienai Lithuania a vital three points. Top of the table with one game to play.
