Game 7 of Group B was an important fixture for both Jims40yearoldveg and Telferscot FC. The teams currently sat in 4th and 6th position and, as the games ticked by, would need a win to act as a catalyst for their tournament challenge. A draw here would not really help either team too much in the overall context of the group.

Jims40yearoldveg would come into the game the happier of the two teams having just picked up their first win and also keeping their first clean sheet of the day.

The two Portuguese teams in this group looked a cut above the four travelling teams based on results so far. These two teams had scored more than double the other 4 teams combined and conceded just 1 between them. Telferscot FC could consider the fact that they had got the two hardest games out of the way by playing both FLX and Futsal Peoes and would hope to fare better in the three remaining games.

Telferscot FC were clearly more competitive in this game and this was a much closer game than their previous two. However, they slipped to a third defeat but it was by the odd goal. In fact, there was only one goal in the game. The goal was scored by Kev Foskett who scored his second of the day. It was a second 1-0 win in a row for Jims40yearoldveg who were steadily climbing the table.

Where's Dave versus Futsal Peoes was the next game on Pitch D. Where's Dave started off with a win and had just lost narrowly to Jims40yearoldveg. It left them in mid-table at kick-off.

Futsal Peoes could not have started any better with a maximum 6 points, 9 goals scored and 0 conceded. Futsal Peoes had an incredible defensive record in this tournament going back to last year's tournament. In 7 games last year and 2 more this morning they had conceded just the 1 goal. It was an incredible achievement. Last year they struggled to score goals with just 4 in 5 group games but they seemed to have solved that problem with 9 already – as many as they scored in the whole tournament last year.

This looked to be a tough fixture for Where's Dave and so it proved. They couldn't find a way through the Futsal Peoes defence and there is no shame in that. Futsal Peoes went on to keep their 9th clean sheet in 10 games at the Lisbon Veterans Tournament.

At the other end a solitary goal from Vando was enough to secure the 3 points for the Portuguese.

To complete Round 3 of Group B we had Peebles All Stars versus FLX. Both teams had a 100% record – Peebles All Stars an unwanted one with two defeats, FLX a cherished one with two victories.

Peebles All Stars (Sco) became the first team to represent Scotland in the Veterans category of our tournaments when they took to the field in Round 1. They have experienced our events before having appeared at the 2014 Barcelona Fives. The group phase saw them collect 1 draw and 3 defeats as they finished fifth. It qualified them for our third tier knock-out competition, the Trophy. They drew German side SV Zoo and it was the team from Berlin who progressed (3-1) to the Semi-Finals.

The Scottish team had a tough ask to try and get off the mark in this game but they acquitted themselves well. FLX had scored four goals in each of their first two games but found the Peebles All Stars a tougher nut to crack. However, they did still crack it. Antonio Cristovao bagged the first with Ruben Luz scoring his fifth in three games for 2-0.

FLX were joint top of the table on 9 points. Peebles All Stars remained in 5 th position.
