The first game of Round 2 saw Jims40yearoldveg take on Where's Dave. We briefly touched on Where's Dave history (as part of the Bure Park Old Boys group) in Round 1 but here is a full summary of their time in our tournaments:

2009 Prague Trophy: 6th in group, did not qualify for knock-out phase.

2010 Valencia Fives: 3rd and 4th in their 5 team groups. Plate Quarter-Final and Plate Runners-up.

2011 Valencia Fives: Two 5th place group finishes. Wooden Spoon Semi-Final exit for Triple D, Karma FC won the Wooden Spoon (out of 4 teams).

2012 Valencia Fives: 2nd and 6th in their groups. Cup Quarter-Final exit and won the Trophy tournament.

2013 Krakow Trophy: 3rd and 4th in their 6 team groups. Plate Semi-Final and Plate Runners-Up.

2014 Bratislava Fives: 3rd and 4th in their 6 team groups. Plate Quarter-Final exit for both teams.

2015 Lisbon Tournament: 4th and 6th in their 6 team groups. Plate Quarter-Final and Trophy Semi-Final.

2016 Riga Tournament: 3rd and 6th in their 6 team groups. Plate Quarter-Final and Trophy Semi-Final.

Where's Dave had started off with a win here and playing a team who had lost their opening game. A second win here would send Where's Dave clear at the top. It was not to be two from two though as a Rob Nash goal ensured that Jims40yearoldveg would collect their first 3 points of the day.

Telferscot FC were next in action on Pitch D as they took on FLX. Could Telferscot FC bounce back from opening game defeat? Or, would it be FLX starting the tournament with a 100% win record?

Sadly for Telferscot FC fans it looked like being the latter. FLX wasted no time at all in establishing a lead with Nuno Vitoria scoring for the second game in a row. In Ruben Luz FLX appeared to have a great goal-scorer in their ranks. He scored twice in Round 1 and was on the target twice more in Round 2. His goals took FLX into a 3-0 lead.

FLX were not quite finished yet with Nuno Vitoria scoring his second of the game as the Portuguese side completed a very good 4-0 win. For Telferscot FC it was 2 defeats from 2 – both against teams from Portugal. They next had games against British opposition to get their campaign back on track.

The game that would complete the second round of fixtures was Futsal Peoes versus Peebles All Stars.

Futsal Peoes (Por) originally played on our 2013 visit to Lisbon in the Open Age category of the tournament. They finished joint top with Funsport A with 4 wins and 1 draw but were second on goal difference. They were eliminated by the eventual winners, HS Décor, in the Cup Semi-Finals.

Fast forward 3 years to 2016 and they were back to play in the 2016 Veterans Tournament. A solid group phase saw them secure 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat. They scored 4 but only conceded 1 as they finished 4th in the group. The knock-out phase saw a 3-0 Semi-Final win (v Dickie Dogs) and a 2-0 Final win (v Crabtree Amblers) to win the Plate competition.

Pioes were off to a winning start here in Round 1 and they were playing a Peebles All Stars team who had suffered defeat in their first fixture and were looking to bounce back. It was Futsal Peoes who drew first blood in the opening exchanges of the game as Jorge scored for the second game in a row.

Peebles All Stars seemed powerless to stop their Portuguese hosts. Bruno Bambo was Futsal Peoes' top scorer last year with 4 and he scored his second of the day to make it 2-0. Manuel Neto made it 3-0 before Jorge completed his hat-trick for 5-0.
