In
the next game we had one team looking for their
first victory of the day in the shape of Saga
Louts. They were up against Compact Records who
were aiming to make it two wins out of two and
make a good early case for Cup qualification.
Saga
Louts were part of the Bure Park Old Boys group
who had a rich eurofootballfives.com tradition
dating back to the 2009 Prague Trophy. The Saga
Louts “brand” first played in the 2012 Valencia
Fives where they reached the Cup Quarter-Finals.
In 2013, Saga Louts went all the way to the Plate
Final. They lead 3-0 at one stage but were hauled
in by Awiw and eventually defeated on penalties.
At the 2014 Bratislava Fives Saga Louts finished
4th in their respective group and went out to
GSF Drunkerz in the Plate QF.
Here
in Lisbon 2 years ago, Saga Louts finished 4 th
in their group to qualify for the Plate. They
lost in the Plate Quarter-Finals to Frank Hirth
who went on to win the Plate (and also the Plate
at the 2016 Prague Tournament). Their most recent
performance was at the 2016 Riga Tournament. Saga
Louts had a good group phase with 2 wins, 1 draw
and 2 defeats to finish third. A Plate Quarter-Final
defeat saw them go out 5-2 to Red Cow Belgrade.
Saga
Louts seemed to have drawn a particularly tough
pair of opening fixtures. In their first game
Compact Records had won having fallen behind.
They were to score first in this game with Jose
Coria scoring his first of the tournament. Jason
Carr levelled things up before the break though
for 1-1.
Compact
Records were back in front in the second half
when Fernando Palmcil made it 2-1. Fernando Palmcil
then added his second of the half to make it 3-1
and seal the win.
