AAK S&S were back in action as we began Round 5. They had picked up a win against Lun-don FC and a particularly good win over Cruz Del Sur A. They had also suffered two defeats but against good sides – Jackson's 5 and Wonderleague. They next met a Tommie's Guns team who had 1 draw and 3 defeats to their name. It was fifth versus eighth in the table.

For reasons we mentioned earlier, Tommie's Guns had a weakened side in Lisbon and as a result were finding the going tough. They were yet to score in the tournament….until now! Dan Best in goal for AAK S&S had kept two clean sheets in four games but would not add to his tally as Jacques Arbeille broke the duck for Tommie's Guns. The goal arguably produced the loudest cheer and biggest celebration of the day.

In the last game of Round 4, Lun-don FC scored their first goal and went on to pick-up their first win of the day. Tommie's Guns were unable to replicate that feat as Gary Bartley continued his fine goal-scoring run. He scored for the third game in a row and his fourth of the tournament levelled it up for 1-1.

The game was perfectly poised and was set-up for someone to become a hero and claim the winner. The hero of the hour was Daniel Flower whose strike settled matters. It was all 3 points for AAK S&S who ended the round in a share of third position.

Pangare Futebol Clube were leading Group B with an exemplary record of 4 wins out of 4. Cruz Del Sur A had looked to be on the same trajectory as Pangare FC as they began with 2 wins out of 2 but had surprisingly lost their previous 2 games. This was therefore a pivotal game for Cruz Del Sur A in particular.

Including the four games played so far today, Cruz Del Sur A's overall group record read as follows (includes Banter Bus and BBFC1):

Played 23, Won 13, Drawn 5, Lost 5, For 36, Against 20, Points 21.

This game was arguably their best performance in the group phase over their history. They were playing against a team who had won all four games and won them comfortably scoring almost four per game (15) and conceding just 2. Not only did Cruz Del Sur A win this game but they won it handsomely.

Tom Lawro set them on their way to make it 1-0. Danny Armando McGee doubled the lead and the English team were in dreamland (to use an FA Cup cliché) when McGee scored again to make it 3-0. What a result!

The result above really opened things up in Group B and the biggest beneficiaries could be Wonderleague. They were 3 points behind the league leaders and now had a chance to level it up. They would need a big win to go top though due to goal difference. A win by four goals or more would do it for the Portuguese.

FC Seagrave's results had been on the slide since their opening victory and it was going to be tough for them to get back to winning ways here. Not only were they up against a good team but they were playing a good team with added incentive/motivation to reach top spot.

The game went with the form book as Wonderleague scored through Rui Miguel Bastos and Bruno Miguel Fernandes Pinto to win it, 2-0.

With wins for Cruz Del Sur A and AAK S&S the pressure was on Jackson's 5 to maintain their top four position and berth in the Cup qualification places. The defeat for Panagare Futebol Clube would also have them dreaming of winning the group as a win here would put them within 3 points of the leaders.

Jackson's 5 came into the game on the back of defeat but would fancy their chances in this one with all due respect to Tommie's Guns. The latter were languishing in 8th position on one point and had suffered two 6-0 results in their last 3 games. They were a team on the ropes and for the Jackson 5 it was time to “ Enjoy Yourself”.

William Sambrook got the ball rolling before Richard Jackson made it 2-0 and George Gaydon made it 3-0. Goals A, B, C in this game were as easy as 1, 2, 3 for Jackson's 5. Jackson's 5 did actually go on to make it 5 as William Sambrook and Adry Alonso completed a comprehensive 5-0 win.

With three teams locked together on 9 points the big win was important for goal difference as it secured Jackson's 5 third position at the end of Round 5.
