Pangare
Futebol Clube were leading Group B with an exemplary
record of 4 wins out of 4. Cruz Del Sur A had
looked to be on the same trajectory as Pangare
FC as they began with 2 wins out of 2 but had
surprisingly lost their previous 2 games. This
was therefore a pivotal game for Cruz Del Sur
A in particular.
Including
the four games played so far today, Cruz Del Sur
A's overall group record read as follows (includes
Banter Bus and BBFC1):
Played
23, Won 13, Drawn 5, Lost 5, For 36, Against 20,
Points 21.
This
game was arguably their best performance in the
group phase over their history. They were playing
against a team who had won all four games and
won them comfortably scoring almost four per game
(15) and conceding just 2. Not only did Cruz Del
Sur A win this game but they won it handsomely.
Tom
Lawro set them on their way to make it 1-0. Danny
Armando McGee doubled the lead and the English
team were in dreamland (to use an FA Cup cliché)
when McGee scored again to make it 3-0. What a
result!
