Group B began with FC Seagrave versus Jackson's 5.

FC Seagrave had their first taste of eurofootballfives.com action at the 2010 Algarve Open. They made a fine debut and were unbeaten in the group phase with 2 wins and 2 draws. They qualified for the Cup and won their Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals both 2-0 before meeting Dutch team Athletico Do Hollande in the Final. Athletico Do Hollande (who now have 3 eurofootballfives.com titles) won it.

They made a welcome return to eurofootballfives.com competition at the 2015 Barcelona Fives. They found Barcelona a tougher proposition with a narrow 1-0 defeat to 2 times eurofootballfives.com Plate winners Naranjitos in their opener. Another 1-0 defeat followed against Saladmode FC before a 2-2 draw against Drunk Perfect. They finished off with a 4-1 defeat to North London FC and qualified for the Trophy competition. They picked up a 2-0 win over FC Dad in the Quarter-Finals but were prevented reaching a second European final after a 4-3 defeat to FC Atwood.

On their return to Portugal here in Lisbon they fell behind to a Richard Jackson goal. They recovered well from the early setback though as they equalised through Danny King. They then went ahead with Danny King's second goal of the game. They secured victory when Matt Allard made it 3-1 to mark a superb first game win.

Group B started off with a eurofootballfives.com regular making their third tournament appearance and winning. Could AAK S&S do the same?

AAK S&S joined us in Lisbon after two previous visits to our Amsterdam Fives event. They competed in Amsterdam for the first time in 2011. Back then they started off superbly with a 2-1 win over GBS Reds (Cze) and 3-2 over Goals Aloud (Wal). Results then tailed off but against quality opposition including Inter Women (2011 winners), Biale Orly then as CEPL (2012 winners) and Rigford Seahawks (2009 Krakow Trophy winners, 2012 Berlin Fives winners).

They returned to the Amsterdam Fives in 2014 and started off with a 3-0 win over Dutch side Wilhelmus. They then suffered setbacks against Pajero FC (3-0) and East Compton Eagles (5-2). A 4-2 win over FC Copenbadly saw them return to winning ways before a final group game against 3 times eurofootballfives.com champions Athletico Do Hollande. It was a great effort and they pushed their illustrious opponents all the way but narrowly lost, 3-2. They were unlucky to finish down in 5th place which saw them qualify for the Plate. They went out to eventual (and subsequent 2 x) Plate winners, St Paul's College Old Boys, 5-3.

AAK S&S would play their opening game in Lisbon against Lun-don FC (more on them later in this report). It was a keenly contested game and a close game as the final score would suggest. In the end, just one goal would settle matters.

It was AAK S&S who got off to the perfect start as a goal from Richard Clubley and a clean sheet for Daniel Best helped them on their way to a 1-0 win.

On Pitch C we would have Pangare Futebol Clube (Bra) versus Wonderleague (Por). Both these teams were competing on their eurofootballfives.com debut and therefore had a blank canvas upon which to paint their footballing artistry. Let the game commence.

It was Pangare Futebol Clube who broke the deadlock with Victor Spaghol giving his team the league. Blendow Esteves then doubled the lead for the Brazilian team to put them in control. The game was back in the balance when Dom J Tavares struck to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

The next goal, if there was to be one, was going to be hugely important. If it went to Pangare Futebol Clube it was game over. If it went to Wonderleague it was very much game on with all three results possible. When the next goal game is was William Junior who found the back of the net and wrapped up a 3-1 win for the Brazilians. This was a high quality encounter.

Last but not least in Group B, it was Tommie's Guns (Eng) versus Cruz Del Sur A (Eng) on Pitch D.

The 2017 Lisbon Tournament marked Tommie's Guns third sortis into European competition with eurofootballfives.com. They made their debut at the 2014 Bratislava Fives. They drew a tough group that featured 2014 Budapest Fives and eventual 2014 Bratislava Fives winners CIS Committee of Belarus. It also featured a Fireball team that finished joint top of their group at the 2015 Bratislava Fives and a Spider Mans & Eagle team that have reached the Cup Semi-Finals at the 2015 Budapest Fives and were runners-up at the 2016 Krakow Trophy. They went on to the Trophy competition where they defeated The Never Tarps 3-0 in the QF before a 7-3 defeat to Ziar Crew (who won the Trophy) in the SF.

They then appeared at the 2015 Berlin Fives where they had a slow start losing their first two games. They then got on the winning trail with 2-1 and 3-0 wins before a final group game against the eventual winners Pink Flamingos A who finished the tournament with 7 wins and 1 draw. Tommie's Guns ran them close and lost narrowly, 1-0. Tommie's Guns came alive in the Plate competition with a 1-0 win over Hangover96 and a penalty shoot-out win over Fail Madrid to qualify the Plate Final. They won the Plate with a 3-2 win over Rayford Athletic to lift the trophy in the presentation.

We'll introduce Cruz Del Sur A in more detail as we progress with this report. They made an immediate impact here in Lisbon though with a 3-0 win as Tom Lawro, Tom Obafemi and Dominic Pitt all opened their personal goal-scoring accounts.
