The
seventh game of Group A was Barrymoore's Swimming
Club versus ADP Netherlands.
ADP
Netherlands (Hol) were making their fourth eurofootballfives.com
appearance and their third on foreign soil. They
first starred at the 2013 Barcelona Fives with
two squads. The first team made an impact in the
group phase by winning Group A whilst the second
team struggled by finishing 5th in Group C. The
ADP Netherlands first team then went out in the
Cup Quarter-Finals on penalties to Sporting Gingham.
They also boasted the tournament's top goalscorer
as Jan Van Rabenswaiij finished with 7 for the
tournament. They then appeared at the 2014 Amsterdam
Fives finishing joint 2nd in Group C. The Cup
Quarter-Finals tripped them up again as they went
out 3-1 to Team Extreme.
A
second appearance of 2014 and a second appearance
in Catalonia saw them appear at the 2014 Barcelona
Fives. In Group A they were unbeaten with 2 wins
and 2 draws as they finished second. It was a
really tough group that featured the 2016 Krakow
Trophy winners (Tinniedad & Tobacco), the
2016 Barcelona Fives winners (Elcombe Old Boys)
and 2 times plate winners, Naranjitos. Amazingly,
second place only saw them qualify for the Plate.
They produced a sensational 11-1 win over The
Matt-Adors in the Quarter-Finals before a 0-0
draw with Red Cow Belgrade in the Semi-Finals.
They missed out on the final due to a 5-4 defeat
in the penalty shoot-out.
Today,
the Dutch team had suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brewin
Dolphin in their opening fixture and faced a tough
prospect in their second game. Barrymoore's Swimming
Club had won their opener 3-0 and would soon be
on the winning trail again.
The
English team went 1-0 up through Jason James.
Sari Itani then made it 2-0 which took him to
3 goals for the day and surpassing his tournament
total in Barcelona already. The win was wrapped
up when Jason James made it 3-0. Barrymoore's
Swimming Club were looking in ominous form.
