Lisbon
is always a favourite in our calendar and 2022
did not disappoint
Open
Age
Portuguese
teams have always performed well in Lisbon winning
4 of the previous 6 events (Ireland & Brazil
winning the other 2). There was more success
for Portugal this year as CDAL maintained a
100% record throughout the tournament and defeated
compatriots RAF2 in the Cup Final.
There
was success for France in the Plate with Blue
Collar Revolution collecting the title and Hicham
Manaa the golden boot with a great return of
12 goals. Riises Pieces from England were runners-up.
Skidmarks,
with 3 Cup wins on their eurofootballfives.com
CV, were successful in the Trophy as they defeated
debutants Moles Salah in the Trophy.
Veterans
In
the Veterans section, FC Mahou won their second
Veterans title and fourth overall as they defeated
FC Dad in the Cup Final. They needed penalties
after FC Dad fought back from 2-0 down to draw
2-2. It was also a 4th top goalscorer award
for Michael Brandon - a joint record with Dydynho
of France's The A Team.
A
penalty shootout was also needed to settle the
Plate as Santa Maria and ACE & The Swagmen
also drew 2-2 after late goals for each side.
It was Santa Maria who emerged victorious on
spot kicks.
A
big thank you to all 36 teams for what was a
superb weekend. See you all soon.
