Round 2 started with Skidmarks versus Montanelas FC. The former had suffered defeat in the first game and were looking to bounce back. The latter had recorded a victory first time out and were looking to build on it and make early advances on the road to Cup qualification.

Coming into this tournament Skidmarks boasted an incredible record in the group phase of our tournaments. Before kick off today they had played 50 group games and won 33 of them. They had 10 draws and 7 defeats with a goal difference that read 114 goals scored and 37 conceded securing 109 points along the way. They had qualified for the Cup on 9 out of 10 appearances but with opening game defeat here the pressure was on to maintain that record.

Skidmarks had a European debutant in their ranks today and it was he, Bradley Grantham, who put them ahead for the first time today. They were up against a good and young Portuguese side who were arguably more suited to the 33 degree temperatures we had today and as the game went on Montanelas FC hit back. David Alves scored the equalizer.

In the end both teams had to settle for a draw – a result that looked a better one for Montanelas FC than Skidmarks in the context of the table.

White Collar Revolution were up next as they took on Pangere FC Brasileiros in what was looking like a very tough group. The French team came into this game with 1 point on the board, the Brazilians had the maximum 3.

Pangere were the winners here in 2017 and came close to a second title in the 2019 tournament. They produced 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat on their way to a second placed finish in the group. Their goal difference was impressive with 17 goals scored and just 2 conceded. They met Group A winners PMPCAR in the Cup Semi-Final and produced a stunning 3-1 victory. In the Cup Final they met Indoorsoccer Café O Trem who had defeated them 1-0 in the group phase. There was nothing between the teams in the final as it ended in a 0-0 stalemate. Pangare Futebol Clube missed out on a second title via a penalty shoot-out.

With that opening game win they could have been dreaming of a second title but they were brought down to earth when Pierre Bourgois put White Collar Revolution 1-0 up. It was a lead they held until the second period of the game but Pangere Brasileiros finished strongly. Jose Matheus Rocha Dos Schoa equalized before Pedro (not the Barcelona/Chelsea one) put them 2-1 up. Jose Matheus Rocha Dos Schoa then sealed a 3-1 win.

Pangere Brasileiros FC were our early leaders in Group D.

To complete Round 2 we had Sirkumo FC versus Moles Salah.

Sirkumo FC played at the 2019 Alicante Tournament as Elysian FC. It was a pretty strong performance as they finished second in their 6-team group behind Panadero Local Sport. In their group games they collected 3 wins, 1 draw and just the 1 defeat (against the top team). They qualified for the Cup competition where they met Lostwithiel FC. A 1-1 draw in the Quarter Finals turned into victory via a penalty shootout to set up a Semi-Final against their sister squad Galacticos. Galacticos won the derby 1-0.

It was a steady start for Sirkumo FC today with a solid opening point. They were looking to build on this with a first win and move into second. Moles Salah stood in their way and they were looking to bounce back from a 4-1 defeat to Montanelas FC.

It was Sirkumo FC who struck first thanks to Zak Lunat. He certainly had the touch in front of goal in this game as he struck again to make it 2-0. Mobin Budi scored for the second successive game to seal a fine 3-0 victory.
