Northern
Town FC met Red Cow Belgrade in the penultimate
game of Group C. As we ticked off the games
things were becoming a little clearer in the
table.
At
the top, Bulota PK had secured the group win
and their place in the Cup. Northern Town FC
could join them with a draw or better. The only
team that could prevent Northern Town FC going
through to the Cup were their opponents, Red
Cow Belgrade.
Northern
Town FC were currently 3 points ahead so Red
Cow Belgrade had to win. Nortern Town FC were
+8 in the goal difference stakes, Red Cow Belgrade
were +1. Therefore Red Cow Belgrade needed to
win by four goals.
Joe
Howitt got his team off to the perfect start
as Red Cow Belgrade went 1-0 up. Niall Dunning
equalized to make it 1-1 to consolidate their
position in the league table. Northern Town
FC's position strengthened as Campbell McAuley
scored twice to make it 3-1. Joe Smith got Red
Cow Belgrade back to 3-2 to retain their interest
in the game but Cup qualification was almost
extinct.
Northern
Town FC finished off their Group C campaign
with a flourish though as Chris Slevin and Niall
Dunning found the net to make it 5-2. Northern
Town FC had qualified for the Cup so very well
done to them. Red Cow Belgrade would probably
go through to the Plate but that was still to
be rubber stamped in the final fixture.
