So, onto Round 5 we go and the last attempts for the teams to stake their claim for the Cup qualification or for Plate qualification depending on their situation. First up was Audley London FC and The A Team FC. Both these teams would play twice in the final round of fixtures so this was effectively their game in hand.

The teams were at opposite ends of the table and both had 100% records. The A Team had the enviable 100% record of 3 wins from 3. Audley London FC had the dubious honour of 3 defeats from 3. It looked like the odds were stacked in favour of an “away” win here for The A Team.

The A Team were yet to concede in the tournament so when Audley London FC fell behind their odds of victory lengthened. It was Randy Tchutio who continued his goal per game record. The powerful forward would go on to score a second and a third. It was the first and only hat-trick to be scored in Group A. It took his tally for the day to 7 goals and he was amongst the contenders for the Top Goalscorer award.

The game finished 3-0 and meant The A Team were guaranteed the Group A title whatever happened in their final game. Sadly for Audley London FC the opposite was true. It meant they would finish in sixth whatever happened in their final game.

Audley London FC's game was up next and it was against FC Shark. As we noted above, Audley London FC would finish in sixth regardless of this result but they could go into the knockout phase with some momentum if they could pick-up a victory here.

FC Shark currently resided in fourth position. They could move up to second with a win and have a very good chance of reaching the Cup. They would move a point above Monaco Tiny Gdanskers who still had to play The A Team. FC Shark could finish no lower than their current fourth and so would be in the Plate at worst.

FC Shark raced into a 5-0 lead. Lewis Hubbard got the ball rolling to make it 1-0 before Joe Cridland made it 2-0. Those same two men made it 3-0 and 4-0 respectively before Todd Goodyear added the fifth. Audley London FC would have the final say with a Josh Tough consolation making it 5-1.

The 15th and final game of Group A was The A Team versus Monaco Tiny Gdanskers. The former sat on top of the table with a 4 point advantage so were already Group A champions. Monaco Tiny Gdanskers had seen FC Shark move above them with victory in the preceeding game.

A win for Monaco Tiny Gdanskers would guarantee them second position. A draw would see them go level with FC Shark on points and come down to goal difference. Monaco Tiny Gdanskers had the better goal difference so a draw would also be good enough for them.

FC Shark were watching on and needed The A Team to keep up their 100% win record to help them out. So far so good in the early stages as Randy Tchutio scored his 8 th goal of the day. He was a leading contender for the top goal scorer award.

The A Team were unable to extend that lead but they were yet to concede a goal today….until now. Tim Werger of Monaco Tiny Gdanskers became the first man to breach that French defence. The goal made it 1-1 and earned a draw for the English team. Monaco Tiny Gdanskers secured second position and qualified for the Cup. FC Shark would miss out as they finished third and would go through with Deportivo Dooradoyle to the Plate.

Audley London FC and Bialoazzuri FC would take up the places in the Trophy.
