5 of Group C was an all England encounter between
Northern Town FC and I Love United & Drinking
Shandies. The former got off to a flyer with
a 3-0 win from their opening fixture. The latter
slipped to a narrow 2-1 defeat to Audley Witney.
Stephen
Brennan kept a clean sheet for Northern Town
in Round 1 but he was beaten early in this contest
by Aaron Sullivan. Niall Dunning quickly replied
to make it 1-1.
Tom
Russell scored I Love United & Drinking

competition in their previous game. He was on
target again here to regain his team's lead.
That lead was extended to 3-1 by Aaron Sullivan
as I Love United & Drinking Shandies were
in control.
Darryn
Crawford's goal wrestled back some of that control
to reduce the deficit to 3-2. Campbell McAuley
scored for the second game in a row to equalize
at 3-3 and it was game on again.
There
was still time for a winner. Who could claim
it? Cometh the hour, cometh the man and that
man was Chris Slevin. His third goal in two
games ensured his team would secure the maximum
6 points from their first two fixtures. Final
score, 4-3.
