A look at the league table at the end of Round 2 showed a clear top 3 and bottom 3. Round 3 started with two of those teams at the foot of the table trying to bridge the gap to those above as Lanky Londers took on Trinacria B. Both teams were looking to gain their first points of the day on the field of play. It had been a fairly chastening morning for the teams so far but if either team could go on a run and take 9 points from the next 9 available then a place in the Cup was still possible.

Lanky Londoners would probably start favourites for this game as they had a goal difference of -2 having lost each game by a solitary strike. Triancria B were currently -6 and looking for their first goal of the day. If this was tantamount to a form book then the form book was correct as it was Lanky Londoners who forged a first half lead thanks to a goal from Marcus Pitts.

In the second period Lanky Londoners pressed home the advantage with Ben Davy and Enrique Martinez making it 2-0 and 3-0 respectively.

Could this be a springboard for Lanky Londoners campaign? I hope Trinacria B don't mind us saying that it was back to the drawing board for them.

The next action on the pitch in Group D was FC Broxelona B versus Indoorsoccer PSP.

Indoorsoccer were making their third appearance at the Lisbon Tournament. They made their debut at the 2015 event and did pretty well. They finished second in their group with a record of 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat as they qualified for the Cup. They beat BUILDers 3-0 in the Quarter-Finals before a 2-0 defeat to the winners Bubble Football in the Semi-Finals.

They followed this up with an appearance at the 2017 Lisbon Tournament and it was a case of déjà vu – finished second in their group and then a Cup Semi-Final defeat to the eventual winners. In the group phase they recorded 5 wins and 2 draws. A 1-0 win over Jackson's 5 in the Cup Quarters saw them qualify for the fateful Semi-Final as they went out, 4-1.

Both those performances were with 1 squad. This year Indoorsoccer were competing with 2 squads – would it effect their potency? It didn't seem to as they had collected the maximum 6 points available so far.

It was more of the same here as the Portuguese set about their task well and with real zeal and relish. They were popping the ball around nicely and their movement off the ball was very good. They were helped into the lead courtesy of an own goal though. Joao Perestrelo added a second though to put them in command.

George Nicolau did get on the scoresheet for FC Broxelona B but it was only to be a consolation as second half goals from Renato Costa (x2) sealed a third straight win for Indoorsoccer PSP. Final score, 4-1.
