Round 2 started with Lanky Londoners versus Saipan FC. The former had suffered defeat in the first game and were looking to bounce back. The latter had recorded a victory first time out and were looking to build on it and make early advances on the road to Cup qualification.

Saipan FC's most recent of their 7 previous performance was at the 2016 Algarve Open. They finished second in their group behind RC Lens (2015 Algarve Open finalists) as they picked up 3 wins out of 4 games. It saw Saipan FC progress to the Cup group where they finished in 5th place overall in a very tough Cup group.   

Although Saipan had started well today they were to fall behind in this one. A Dani Conejo goal gave Lanky Londoners the lead. Could the 2015 Mallorca Tournament champions respond?

Yes they could. Hector Navarro Real had two goals from the first game and his third of the day would put Saipan FC back on level terms. His fourth of the day would then complete the comeback and see his team establish a 2-1 lead. There was to be no further score and it was win #2 for Saipan.

It was a second defeat for Lanky Londoners but both were by the odd goal and in games they were highly competitive in. There was more to come from them we were sure.

To complete Round 2 we had Galacticos versus FC Broxelona B. For the third time in Round 2 it was a first round victor versus a first round loser. So far, the round 1 winners had added a second victory to their collection. Could FC Broxelona B buck that trend?

FC Broxelona made their eurofootballfives.com debut at the 2016 Budapest Fives with two teams. The B team also began well and after 4 of their 5 group games were unbeaten (1 win, 3 draws). A win in their last game would have sent them into the Cup but they were up against 3 x eurofootballfives.com winners CIS of Belarus. FC Broxelona B lost 4-1 and would also finish 4th (of 6) in their group. The Plate Semi-Finals saw a 2-1 win over Vilag Valogatott to set up a final against Broxelona A. A ding-dong Plate Final saw the A team emerge victorious 4-3.

Last year they appeared at the 2017 Mallorca Fives the B team were not quite as successful but still competitive with 3 draws in 5 games. They eventually finished fifth in the table and set-up a Quarter-Final against FC Dad which they won 2-0. It was a 3-1 Semi-Final defeat to FC Shark that saw them leave the competition.

FC Broxelona B found it tough going here against Galacticos. Hassan Patel put his side 1-0 up before Hamza Patel made it 2-0. It was the same again in the second half as Hassan Patel made it 3-0 to Galacticos. There was to be a fourth goal as Adam Patel scored his first of the tournament.
