Wessex
FC were up next and would come into the game
on a high. They had just picked up their first
win of the tournament. Could that act as a catalyst
for better things to come?
Giggs
Boson FC on the other hand needed a catalyst
of their own as they had suffered three defeats.
They came closest in their last game with a
narrow defeat against ASMS.
Group
A had largely been characterised by tight games
so far but this game went goal crazy. It was
to be the highest scoring game of the entire
tournament and the biggest victory of the tournament.
It
was largely due to a blistering start by Wessex
FC that saw them go 5-0 up in just a few minutes.
Isaac Thompson (2), Bilal Salouache (2) and
Anthony Scarlett effectively sealed the destination
of the points in the opening salvo. Connor Lawson's
goal gave Giggs Boson FC the final say before
the break though, 5-1 at HT.
5-1
became 7-1 after Anthony Scarlett and Abubakar
Mohamed increased the lead. Connor Lawson got
a second of the game for Giggs Boson before
Hasan Hussain put the seal on a stunning 8-2
win.
