We had two unbeaten teams to kick us off in Round 2 as Naranjitos (Spa) met ASMS (Mor). Both these teams collected 1 point for a draw from their opening fixture so were looking to build upon this and climb up the table.

This was Naranjitos third tour outside of Spain. On their previous two tours they qualified for the Plate. At the 2015 Budapest Fives they went on to win the Plate and at the 2017 Amsterdam Fives they were knocked out in the Semi-Finals on penalties against German team SC Sylt. In tournaments in Spain they had qualified for the Cup on 4 out of 5 appearances. Could Naranjitos take this Spanish form onto the road?

Today, they were proving difficult to beat but they were not picking up the wins that would propel them into the Cup qualification places. It was another draw for Naranjitos as they were unable to breach the ASMS defence. Tomas Acuna Portillo was making his debut in goal for Naranjitos and he kept his first clean sheet for his team.

ASMS were proving defensively solid too. Mourad Zouhair was in goal for the Moroccan team and he now had two clean sheets to his name.

In the next game we had PMPCAR who were currently top of the table and the only team to produce a victory so far in Group A. They were due to face Wessex FC who had claimed a draw from their opening game.

PMPCAR made their debut in September's 2017 Lisbon Tournament. In their 8-team group they won 3, drew 1 and lost 3 of their group games. Their haul of 10 points left them in fifth position but a level goal difference showed they were competitive throughout. They qualified for the Plate and picked up a 3-0 win over Tommie's Guns in the Quarter-Finals. In the Semi-Finals they drew 2-2 with AAK S&S but went out on penalties (4-3).

Here in 2018, PMPCAR continued their winning run at the start of the tournament. They lead 2-1 through Tiago Fernandes and Paulo Tavares in reply to Bilal Salouache's goal for Wessex FC. Just before half-time Paulo Tavares gave the home team a cushion of a vital 2-0 lead.

In the second half Wessex FC were right back in it as Sana Najmaddin reduced the deficit to 3-2. Pedro Domingos (a.k.a Tranquilo) restored the two goal lead and sealed the 4-2 win.

The final game of Round 2 was Giggs Boson FC against Tinniedad & Tobacco. Giggs Boson FC were looking to respond to defeat in Round 1.

Tinnidad & Tobacco's most recent performance was at the 2017 Budapest Fives. They went 5 games undefeated in the group phase (3 wins, 2 draws). They topped their group without conceding a goal. The Quarter-Finals saw a 3-1 defeat to JUBI Titans. Here In Lisbon, they opened up with a draw against ASMS and were looking to kickstart their campaign with their first three points.

Whilst the Tins struggled to find the net in Round 1 they wasted no time in getting amongst the goals in Round 2. Jon McKinley set them on their way before Matt Haythorn and Michael Wilkes established a solid lead.

We kicked off the second half at 3-0 with more goals to follow. It was a goal each in the second half with Michael Wilkes grabbing his second of the game for Tinniedad & Tobacco. James Davis was the man to open the Giggs Boson FC account today – alas for them it was to be a mere consolation in this fixture.
