AFC Basemen had a chance to open up a 3 point lead at the top of Group B when they met FC Broxelona A. The latter had just picked up their first win and could make it three teams tied on 6 points at the top if they were to pick up the victory.

We've not yet had chance to preview FC Broxelona A so let's do so now. FC Broxelona made their eurofootballfives.com debut at the 2016 Budapest Fives with two teams. The A team got off to the perfect start with 6 points from 6 before results faded. They finished 4th (of 6) and would qualify for the Plate competition. The Plate Semi-Finals saw Broxelona A were involved in a really tight affair with Athletic Pasty which finished 0-0 at full time. FC Broxelona won 2-0 on penalties to set up an all-Broxelona Plate Final. A ding-dong Plate Final saw the A team emerge victorious 4-3.

Last year they appeared at the 2017 Mallorca Fives. The A team had a good morning with 10 points from a possible 15 as they finished 2 nd in Group C. A 2-2 draw in the Quarter-Final against KML (Hol) preceded a penalty shoot-out win. They were then defeated by the eventual winners, Valecuatro, in the Semis.

Back to the action in Lisbon and this one did not start too well for Broxelona as they found themselves two goals down in the first half. Adam Speake and Jack Utting goals put the men in black and white stripes in command of this game.

FC Broxelona came from behind in their previous game to win but that was from just one goal down. Here they mounted another comeback and rescued a point. Jason Ayton scored for the second game in a row to reduce the deficit before Adam Henderson scored the vital equalizer.

The point saw AFC Basemen lead the way in Group B whilst FC Broxelona A moved up to third.

 
 
 

FC United of Bob were in action again for their fourth fixture – their last chance to put points on the board. If they could secure a win they would move on to 6 points and then await results of other games to see where that would take them.

Their opponents would be ASCPM who were currently without a win from their two games. However, they had played the top two teams so now was maybe a chance to get some points of their own.

Honours were even at half-time with the teams level at 2-2. An own goal and a Dan Savin goal for FC United of Bob, two goals for Bouazzoui Abdellah for ASCPM.

Bouazzoui Abdellah would actually have a stunning match and he was ultimately the difference between the two teams. He completed his hat-trick in the second half to put the Moroccans 3-2 up before killing off the game with a fourth. It was a fine personal performance and helped his team to their first win of the day.

FC United of Bob had done what they could on the pitch in Group B – they would await their fate for the knock-out phase.
