Round 3 started with an intriguing tie – Pangare Futebol Clube (Bra) versus PSV Hangover (Pol). It was the defending champions versus the current league leaders. Only one team has ever successfully defended a eurofootballfives.com title. That was Athletico Do Hollande in 2011 when they won the Algarve Open for the second year in a row. With one defeat already, Pangare Futebol Clube had no room for error if they were to keep their crown.

They were behind at half-time though as PSV Hangover lead 2-1 at the end of the first half. At the final whistle they were still in arrears as they went down 2-3. Pangare Futebol Clube's title defence was hanging by a thread despite goals from William Junior and Junior Pires.

It was now three successive wins for PSV Hangover who were going from strength to strength. They had now beaten two of the final four teams from last year. There were two more goals for Marcin Minczynski and another for Karol Narojczyk.

We went into Game 8 of Group C with Trinacria A due to meet Tysers. Both teams could feel a little bit stunned that they had no points to show for some decent performances so far. Trinacria A had played 2 tournament winners from last year. Tysers had played a previous tournament winner and the team who were top with a maximum 9 points.

I am sure, with all due respect to their opposition, these two teams felt it was a chance to get some points on the board and ignite their tournament challenge. It was the Belgian team who hit the front as Aldo Urso scored his team's first goal of the day. It was the only goal of the first period.

Could Tysers hit back? If they were then they would have to do it from 2-0 down as Gaetano Intriglillo doubled the lead for the Belgian team.

Trinacria A went on to keep a first clean sheet of the day and claim a first victory. The league table was looking much better for them.

The next game was a big one in Group C so far with BSP FC meeting Indoorsoccer. BSP FC had lead Group C on goal difference at the end of Round 2. They had just seen their closest challengers, PSV Hangover, extend their 100% record to 3 games. Could BSP FC match them and virtually ensure Cup qualification in the process?

Indoorsoccer had one win and one defeat so far. If the Portuguese could win this one then they would go level with BSP FC in joint second. It would then look like a three horse race for the 2 Cup qualification places. A defeat would see them off the pace and probably fail to reach the Cup for the first time.

It was honours even at the end of the first half as the two teams changed ends without troubling the scorers, 0-0. The vital breakthrough came in the second half as Abdulai scored for the second game running to make it 1-0 Indoorsoccer. This became 2-0 to the team from Lisbon when Nelsio scored his second of the day. It was a big win for Indoorsoccer that made interesting reading to the Group C table. It was only a second defeat in 11 eurofootballfives.com games for BSP FC.
