Game
5 of Group C was to be the all-Portuguese encounter
between Groundforce Lisboa and CCD Oeiras. Both
teams came into the contest undefeated but looking
for their first victory of the day.
So
far, Group C had been played in binary with
teams scoring either 0 or 1 such was the tight
nature of the games but this game would break
the mould. In the first half there was a solitary
goal to split the two teams and it came from
the boot of Joao Rodrigues.
In
the second half Gatalino Fravisc turned 1-0
until 2-0 and then Gonzalo Simoes turned 2-0
into 3-0. It was a scoreline that didn't reflect
how close the game was. The difference was that
CCD Oeiras took their chances and had greater
patience in working the shooting opportunities
and creating the “big chances”. The Groundforce
Lisboa lads had some great strikes on them and
were happy to shoot from distance but they were
not the percentage options. It made for an entertaining
watch.
