The start of Round 3 saw the top two teams come face to face in the battle at the summit of Group B. It was Portugal versus Portugal with the two teams both possessing 100% records having scored 17 goals between them and having conceded just 1 between them so far. For one, maybe both, of these teams that 100% record would go.

As you might expect with two teams with such equal records coming into the game the match proved to be a very even contest in the first half. We reached half-time and the scorers were untroubled with the scores all level at 0-0.

Goals were conspicuous by their absence in the first half but were plain for all to see in the second period. We had four in total to enjoy and whilst both teams scored it was Boa Hora who had a winning majority, 3-1. Bruno Paco scored his fifth of the tournament for PPB although it was a consolation on this occasion. Fabio Carvalho, Javi and Rafael Flaguerias dealt the triple blow to claim all 3 points for Boa Hora.

Boa Hora opened up a three point lead at the top of Group B but PPB would ultimately prove to be the big losers of Round 3 as they slipped from first to third position.

Spider Mans & Eagle versus Two Balls One Touch was the next game on Pitch B and was a battle between the 4 th and 5 th placed teams. Both clubs were looking for their first victory of the day.

With the match underway half-time came and went with the teams still locked together at 0-0. Try as they might both teams were unable to break the stalemate in the second period. The sands of time ran out and it was one point each for these two teams. The draw was not the worst result in the world (clearly better than a defeat) but clearly wasn't the best either in the overall context of Group B.

Two Balls One Touch did not have their first goal or first win of the tournament but they had broken their duck by registering their first eurofootballfives.com point on the board.

To complete Round 3 we had BUILDers versus The Crazy Gang. BUILDers had made a decent start to the tournament recording 4 points from a possible 6 and had an opportunity to move into second position if they could claim a second successive victory.

The Crazy Gang had “enjoyed” a tough start to proceedings this morning and found themselves propping up Group B looking for their first points and first goals of the day. The defeats so far had come against Portuguese opposition and maybe a game now against English opposition may suit them better.

BUILDers started this game as the finished the last and quickly forged ahead. They scored twice in each half to seal their second win of the day and move on to 7 points from a possible 9 to occupy second place in the table. There was a brace for Joe Clark who now had 4 goals in 3 games. There was also a brace for Darren Sooprayen which meant 3 goals for him in the last 2 games.

BUILDers were looking in good form but it was looking ominous for The Crazy Gang as they were being cut adrift at the foot of the table.
