It was 3rd versus 5th at the start of Round 3 with Indoorsoccer meeting Frank Hirth A. For Indoorsoccer there was a chance to go top of the table in what was looking to be a very evenly contested Group A. For Frank Hirth A a victory would put them right in the mix and take 3 points off a team who were sure to be serious rivals for Cup qualification.

Indoorsoccer came into the game with a bit of momentum having just picked up their first three points and were hitherto unbeaten. They were to find Frank Hirth A tough opponents though as they were held to 0-0 at half-time.

Could either team find a successful path to goal after the break? The short answer is yes they could but there was to be only one goal. The goal that would ultimately prove to be the match-winner was struck by Andre Medalha – his second in as many games.

The result was a huge result in the context of the group as Indoorsoccer went top (temporarily at least). Frank Hirth A had plenty of work to do to qualify for the Cup and match their Berlin exploits.

With the result above, Fidelidade went into their game knowing a win would give them a share of the lead in Group A or a win would give them a 2 point cushion at the top. Spider Mans & Great Hawk could equally go joint top if they were to claim victory and leapfrog their opponents to join Indoorsoccer on 7 points.

This was a top of the table clash and as such, also given the tight games in Group A, we expected a close game and these tend to be low-scoring affairs. We were wrong on both occasions as the goals flowed but sadly for Spider Mans & Great Hawk it was one-way traffic in terms of the goals at least. The Portuguese number 5 got the ball rolling before a double from Vitor Deus.

The teams entered half-time level at 3-0 and The Spider Mans & Great Hawk had it all to do. Fidelidade were yet to concede a goal in today's tournament and so a comeback you felt was unlikely given the time available to the English team. When Alexandre Pinto made it 4-0 the points were certainly in the bag. Pinto added his second to make it 5-0 and record a resounding victory for Fidelidade – surely they were Group A champions elect?

To complete Round 3 was Ealing Expendables versus Where's Dave? Both teams needed the points to climb up the table as the teams sat in 4th and 6th position. This fixture would be crucial to each team's future in the tournament.

Ealing Expendables dealt the first blow in this game when James Oldham put Ealing Expendables 1-0 ahead. The team in green had gone 1-0 up in their opening game but had been pegged back on that occasion. In round 3 they claimed the crucial second goal of the game to open up a two goal cushion as Simon Jago put his team on course for their first win of the competition.

The three points were signed, sealed and delivered courtesy of a second half Ryan Casey goal. There was some consolation for Where's Dave? who scored their first goal of the tournament thanks to a Chris Weedon strike. Final score, 3-1.

It was a tough defeat for Where's Dave? who remained in sixth position. For Ealing Expendables it was a crucial 3 points that saw them rise to third and if they could continue in this vein of form maybe they could move into the Cup qualification places.
