With
the result above, Fidelidade went into their
game knowing a win would give them a share of
the lead in Group A or a win would give them
a 2 point cushion at the top. Spider Mans &
Great Hawk could equally go joint top if they
were to claim victory and leapfrog their opponents
to join Indoorsoccer on 7 points.
This
was a top of the table clash and as such, also
given the tight games in Group A, we expected
a close game and these tend to be low-scoring
affairs. We were wrong on both occasions as
the goals flowed but sadly for Spider Mans &
Great Hawk it was one-way traffic in terms of
the goals at least. The Portuguese number 5
got the ball rolling before a double from Vitor
Deus.
The
teams entered half-time level at 3-0 and The
Spider Mans & Great Hawk had it all to do.
Fidelidade were yet to concede a goal in today's
tournament and so a comeback you felt was unlikely
given the time available to the English team.
When Alexandre Pinto made it 4-0 the points
were certainly in the bag. Pinto added his second
to make it 5-0 and record a resounding victory
for Fidelidade – surely they were Group A champions
elect?
