We were now past the halfway stage at the 2013 Mallorca Tournament and the teams really needed to press ahead to stake their qualification claims. Son Gual began Round 4 with the opportunity to move into 2nd place in Group A if they could manage a win over Abertawe All Blacks.

The Welsh side was looking to open their account in terms of points and games were beginning to run out. This game didn't start particularly well for them as Cisco and Pau Roman gave Son Gual a 2-0 lead at half-time. The Spanish were ruthless after the interval as both Cisco and Pau Roman went on to complete their hat-tricks. The final score was 6-0 and Son Gual moved up into second place on 7 points in emphatic style.

For Abertawe All Blacks it was the heaviest defeat so far but if they could muster something in their last game it might just lift them into the Plate and turn their fortunes around.

With the above result it was now crucial for Es Marges and Hutchy's Heroes to take points in the next fixture to keep their Cup qualification hopes alive. The Cup was a very real target for both but defeat now could seriously dent those objectives.

Hutchy's Heroes had just recorded their first win so would come into the game in high spirits. Es Marges hadn't won since their opening game following a defeat and a draw so they had to turn this form around.

As the games got more and more tense the goals got more and more important and Emo scored the all-important first goal in this game to give the home team the lead. Ilian went on to make it 2-0 and Es Marges had made great strides in this first half to get back to winning ways.

What could Hutchy's Heroes manage in the second half? They kept things tight at the back to give themselves a platform for the comeback but the goals proved elusive at the other end and Es Marges held on for the 2-0 win that saw them go level in 2nd place with Son Gual.

The pressure was on Have Ago Heroes as they had just seen Son Gual and Es Marges move above them with wins as they slipped from 2nd to 4th place. The last team they probably wished to play then was Inter Women. The league leaders had a 100% record with 3 wins out of 3 but could not afford a slip up here – if they did then they were in a 4-way battle at the top with just two points separating them.

However, if Inter Women could make it 4 wins in a row they would clinch Cup qualification and the Group A title with a game to spare. The first half was fairly tight with just a Neil Pennington goal for Inter Women separating the teams.

In the second half Inter Women showed their class and eased away from their opponents to secure a 5-1 win. Pennington went on to complete his hat-trick plus there was the customary goal for Daniel Powell and a first of the day for Michael Hanley.

Rob Millington scored a consolation for Have Ago Heroes. They had one game left to decide their fate.
