The 3rd annual Mallorca Tournament (and our 4 th on this sunshine island) kicked off on the 15th June on a glorious day. The sun was shining, the teams were ready…the big kick-off was upon us.

To start we had Abertawe All Blacks of Wales playing Inter Women of England. Abertawe All Blacks were the second Welsh team to grace our Mallorca tournament after AFC Ramos' debut last year.

Inter Women already have a eurofootballfives.com trophy under their belt with the 2011 Amsterdam Fives crown to call their own. They looked good in last year's Mallorca Tournament before going out to Cheesecake FC on penalties. Can they return to winning ways in 2013?

It was a great start for Inter Women as the forged an early 2-0 lead through Daniel Powell. After the break Daniel Powell completed his hat-trick before brother Ronnie Powell got in on the act for 4-0. Daniel Powell was back on the scoresheet again for 5-0 and Inter Women were off to a flyer.

Abertawe All Blacks had a tough start to the tournament but all games wouldn't be this difficult.

Next up was Es Marges of Spain against Have Ago Heroes of England. Es Marges were making their debut so we would find out much about them over the course of this first game and the tournament.

Have Ago Heroes made their debut in the 2012 Barcelona tournament. They were en route to meet their sister squad, Barley FC, in the Plate Final but Spanish side Futbol 7 ensured that would not happen as Have Ago Heroes went down 4-1 in the Semi-Finals.

The two teams looked pretty evenly matched early on and there was nothing to split them early on. We reached the half-time turnaround all level at 0-0. In the second half there were to be two key moments that decided the destination of the points – there was a penalty to Es Marges which was saved by Joshua Dudley in the Heroes goal and a decisive goal which went to Emo for Es Marges. Final score, 1-0

The final two teams to begin their challenge in Group A were Son Gual versus Hutchy's Heroes. The latter were on debut so would be an unknown quantity to us but Son Gual were making their third eurofootballfives.com appearance.

The Spanish had a tough introduction at the 2012 Mallorca Tournament as they were drawn in a group with 2 previous eurofootballfives.com winners (Inter Women and 4 x winners Olympic Phil Babb). They finished 4th in their 6 team group to qualify for the Plate Quarter-Finals where they exited 4-2 at the hands of Whiteley Stags. In May's Mallorca Fives they also finished 4th in a group that contained 2 previous eurofootballfives.com winners (Skidmarks and Policia Mallorca) and went on to the Plate competition – which they won! More silverware in June for Son Gual and another 4th place group finish?

As with the Es Marges versus Have Ago Heroes game this was tight early on and the score was 0-0 at half-time. In the second half though the home team pulled away from their travelling opponents as Jose Luis Malta, Ryan Tweedie and Cisco all scored in a 3-0 victory.
