As the 2013 Mallorca Tournament Cup Semi-Finals were about to get underway we were down to the elite 4 teams in the tournament with a strong home challenge from Sportsman Bar and Peluqeria Styl plus the travelling contenders Inter Women and Tommy's Tits. The only thing we would be guaranteed is a Spain versus England Cup Final due to the way the draw had worked out.

The first Semi-Final saw Inter Women versus Tommy's Tits. Inter Women were on the charge and looking in imperious form. Before this match they had played 20 games in eurofootballfives competition and had only been knocked out on penalties – they were still unbeaten in normal time. They had a record of 16 wins, 4 draws and were yet to lose. That was the mammoth task facing Tommy's Tits.

The Tits had played well today and claimed the prize scalps of our 2011 Mallorca Tournament winners and 2012 Amsterdam Fives Runners-Up so they were certainly capable. With the game underway it was Inter Women who asserted themselves early and Daniel Powell broke the deadlock to put them 1-0 up. Neil Pennington made it 2-0 and Ronnie Powel made it 3-0 and that was a very solid lead going into half-time.

Tommy's Tits were looking visibly tired at this stage and it would be a huge achievement to get back into this. Inter Women had only conceded 3 goals all tournament and Tommy's Tits would have to score 3 in one half to have any chance. The next goal went to Daniel Powell and at 4-0 it was well and truly game over.

It was a great day's performance from Tommy's Tits and maybe this game was one step too far. We would like to thank Tom Hutchings for selecting our tournament for his stag weekend and wish him well for the wedding and married life.

So, who would meet Inter Women in the final?

The two teams were Sportsman Bar and Peluqeria Styl. Both teams had hugely impressive records so far with the Peluqeria Styl played 6 and won 6. Di Sportsman Bar had 5 wins out of 6. This was a true clash of the titans meeting. The two teams were no strangers to each other in our competitions either. Their past records were;

2012 Cup Semi Finals: Sportsman Bar 0-4 Di Stefano Peluqeria

2013 Group C: Sportsman Arenal 0-1 Peluqeria Styl

As you can see Peluqeria had the upper hand in past meetings including at this stage last year. Could Peluqeria Styl make it 3 wins out of 3 and reach the Cup Final for the second year in a row?

We expected a close game with little between the sides and that's the way it panned out in the first half with just the one goal in it. That goal was claimed by Sportsman Arenal's Ruben Drober and they lead 1-0. The second half was a different story though as Peluqeria Styl equalized through Jonathan Gil Munoz. The winning goal was then claimed by Gabriel Caldentey Boadas and Peluqeria Styl maintained their excellent record over Sportsman Arenal.

It was a disappointment for Sportsman Arenal who said they put in their poorest half of football in the tournament in this second half at just the wrong time. They were out at the Cup Semi-Final stage but had shown plenty of talent and skill to show they could potentially make the Cup Final next year.
