With just three points separating second and sixth place it was tight in Group A. Son Gual had a game in hand on the others and that game would come now as they were due to play against Have Ago Heroes.

Son Gual had one win from their game so far and Have Ago Heroes came into this game on the back of victory so would be full of confidence. We expected a high quality game and that is exactly what we got. In the close games in Group A they were often 0-0 at half-time and this proved no different with the scorers untroubled in the opening period.

The second halves of games were where most of the goals were coming and Have Ago Heroes opened the scoring after the break in this one. Rob Millington scored the goal to give us side a crucial lead. The turning point in this game then came when Son Gual struck the post from distance with a crashing drive before Have Ago Heroes broke up the other end to make it 2-0. The goal came from Millington again who moved on to 5 goals for the tournament and was a challenger for Daniel Powell in the top goalscorer stakes.

The second goal proved decisive. At 1-1 it would have been game on but 2-0 settled things. It was two successive wins for Have Ago Heroes and they moved second in the table.

There were two teams yet to get off the mark in Group A and they came face-to-face in the next game. Abertawe All Blacks would take on Hutchy's Heroes.

It was going to be a tough one to call – Hutchy's Heroes hadn't scored whereas Abertawe All Blacks had but on the flip side the All Blacks defence had proved more porous. It would be interesting to see how this one would play out.

It was Hutchy's Heroes who drew first blood through Phil Shrubshall and in these type of games it can be crucial. If you are on the receiving end and results haven't gone your way it is easy for heads to go down. If you've scored that opening goal though it can give you a huge boost – in the game and the whole tournament.

Hutchy's Heroes went on to make it 2-0 through Rob Pickstone and at half-time they were sitting comfortably. There was to be no addition to the score and Hutchy's Heroes had their first win on the board. The league table looked much better for them.

The final game of Round 3 saw the two Spanish teams who should have met earlier – Son Gual versus Es Marges. The game would normalize the fixtures and mean all teams would finish Round 3 having played 3 games each.

Both teams went into the game on 3 points and both had won their first game and lost their second. A win for either team now would see them rise to joint second with Have Ago Heroes. A draw would see them both continue to occupy mid-table.

Half-time came and went with the scores level at 0-0. The full-time came and went with the scores still level but at 1-1 this time. The goals were scored by Toshko (Es Marges) and Jose Luis Malta (Son Gual) and a draw was probably the fair result. Was it a point gained? Was it two points dropped? Only time would tell but it certainly helped the other teams around them.
