Group C was really hotting up as we entered Round 5. Match 10 of the group was Budapest Celtic Pumas against Red Cow Belgrade. After a difficult start the Pumas were clicking into top form with an aggregate of 7-0 in their last two fixtures.

Red Cow Belgrade were on a downward curve of form going win-draw-loss but this does not give a true reflection of their form. Their last two encounters were both top of the table matches and their last one was a narrow defeat to the imperious Team Bear.

This game was another close contest and Red Cow Belgrade were able to curtail the Pumas recent goal-scoring exploits. Both teams were solid at the back and in the end a draw was probably about right. The game finished 0-0.

It was a result that consolidated their positions in 2nd and 3rd place but gave the chasing pack hope.

Not only did the above result give the chasing pack hope but it gave Team Bear a chance to wrap up the Group C title with a game to spare. Their next game was against Hungary Hungary Heggos. The Irish team were languishing in 6th and this was the last fixture they'd have wanted to register their first points of the day.

It may have been the last fixture they would have wanted but it was probably their best performance of the day. They raised their game against illustrious opposition and regained some of that form from Valencia. Ultimately though it would not be quite enough as they slipped to a narrow defeat.

It was just a slender 1-0 win for Team Bear with Simon Hanover scoring the goal that separated the two teams. It was enough to make it 4 wins out of 4 games and put them on 12 points. They were 5 points clear and claimed the Group C title – many congratulations to them.

The Milf Hunters, fresh from their first win, would take on Rigford Seahawks Omega, fresh from their first defeat, in the final game of Round 4. It was becoming crunch time in Group C and a win here would be like gold dust. Either team could move into third with a win whereas a defeat would end Cup qualification hopes. A draw would keep it very tight in mid-table with the Pumas the main beneficiaries.

There was not much between the two teams in an even first half and the two teams reached the break level at 0-0. All games in Round 4 had been tight showing how close the teams were and the importance of the games at this stage. Goals were becoming increasingly valuable and none more than Clark Brady's strike that gave Rigford Seahawks Omega victory in the second half.

The result put them in 3rd place and Cup qualification still very much in their hands. For the Milf Hunters it was a deadly blow that extinguished Cup hopes but Plate qualification was still very much alive.
