Game 7 of Group B was an important fixture for both Rigford Seahawks Alpha and BBFC2. Rigford Seahawks Alpha had put opening game defeat behind them to pick-up their first win last time out. Could this be the catalyst for their 5th successful tournament challenge?

BBFC2 had a slow start in their first game (3-0 loss) but were unlucky in the last game with just a narrow 1-0 loss to 100% record holders Budapest Celtic Lions. They continued this form in this game and the match was proving extremely tight.

Half-time came and went with the score 0-0. It looked like we were going to be reaching full-time still level at 0-0 but there was to be a stirring finish to the match. Rigford Seahawks goalkeeper Ben Kent rolled the ball out and reached the half-way line unchallenged. He then let rip and the ball thundered into the top corner to give his team a vital 1-0 win and all 3 points. The extra 2 points would surely be invaluable at the final reckoning but also give the Seahawks a huge confidence boost and change their approach to the following games.

For BBFC2 it was a cruel blow – so close to their first point of the game and their performance in the last two games had deserved more.

Bozeat All Stars versus Meglapetes was the next game on Pitch B and was a battle between the 1st and 3rd placed teams. Meglapetes had a 100% record so far and were looking to make it 3 wins out of 3 games.

They looked to be on their way again as Gabor Toth made it 1-0 to the Hungarians. Bozeat All Stars were not to be beaten though and they showed plenty of fighting spirit in their last game to come from behind twice and they were at it again in this game as Dan Bayes fired them level. Half time, 1-1.

Meglapetes went ahead again after the break through Gabor Toth's third goal of the tournament and they looked on the cards for that 3rd win once again. Bozeat All Stars fighting spirit was unquestionable though as Joel Piper leveled for 2-2.

This was looking to be a repeat of Bozeat's last game which they lost 3-2 but on this occasion they were to avoid falling behind again and earned a 2-2 draw. The point put Meglapetes top but Budapest Celtic Lions had a game in hand.

That game for Budapest Celtic Lions was the next scheduled fixture against Los Langeros. If the Lions could achieve the 100% record of 3 wins in 3 that Meglapetes could not then they would have a 2 point lead at the top of Group B. A draw would see them share top-spot.

For Los Langeros, they were looking to get their campaign up and running following two defeats by the same scoreline of 0-2. Things were looking better for them in this game as they reached half-time level at 0-0.

In the second-half they continued to fight and battle it out and whilst the Irish team was unable to find a breakthrough they were proving solid at the back. Budapest Celtic Lions did all they could to find the winner and break their opponents down but ultimately to no avail.

The game finished 0-0 and it was a very good point for Los Langeros to get them on the Group B board. Budapest Celtic Lions moved on to 7 points but it was getting tight at the top.
