Megapletes were next in action and they had a tough fixture to look forward to. They were up against the resurgent Rigford Seahawks Alpha who would be on a high after the boost of a last minute winner in their last game. Only a point separated these two teams at the top of the table in 1st and 3rd positions so this was arguably the most important game of Group B to date.

What followed was a tetchy, bad-tempered game with both teams realizing the importance of the match and what was at stake. It was a tense and close affair played on a knife-edge.

At the full-time whistle Rigford Seahawks Alpha finished a goal up (Dan Brayson) and a man up to claim a hugely important win that would see them go top of the table on 9 points – temporarily at least as the Budapest Celtic Lions had played a game less.

Los Langeros and BBFC2 were up next in a game between 5th and 6th position. Both teams could consider themselves a little unlucky not to have more to show for their exploits and efforts and for having drawn a pretty tough group. This was their chance to catapault themselves up the table and help secure a berth in the afternoon Plate competition.

Going into the game, Los Langeros had the advantage of a point on the board with a good 0-0 draw against the Budapest Celtic Lions. BBFC2 could easily have matched that save a last minute goal from Rigford Seahawks Alpha. With such closely matched records it was perhaps no surprise that we got a closely fought game on the pitch.

The defences for each team had fared pretty well to date but the teams had struggled going the other way and had found goals hard to come by. This match followed that pattern and when the referee drew the game to a close there was to be no-score and the points were shared, 0-0.

Budapest Celtic Lions went into their fourth game unbeaten with 2 wins and 1 draw under their belts. They could move to the top of Group B with another victory here. They had a tough game ahead against Bozeat All Stars.

Bozeat All Stars had won their first game and been hugely competitive in their last two games but only had a point to show for it. If they could forge a win in this game they would be firmly in the mix for Cup qualification – anything less and they were struggling for the Cup with the Plate looking more likely.

The two teams battled hard in the opening period to reach the interval level at 0-0. Budapest Celtic Lions were proving very adept at the back as Jani Bart was on his way to clean sheet #4 but since their opening couple of games the goals were drying up. They were unable to break down Bozeat All Stars but the draw was good enough to see them move into 2nd position. Bozeat All Stars remained 4th.
