On
a superb day of football action in Budapest there
were 18 teams assembled to do battle for the ultimate
prize of Budapest Fives champions. Teams from
England, France, Hungary and Ireland were vying
for the title.
It
took a dramatic penalty shoot-out to decide the
champions as goalkeeper Simon Walker was the hero
of the day both saving penalties and scoring the
winning spot-kick to claim the trophy. Rigford
Seahawks Omega were the unlucky team to come so
close.
In
the Plate competition it was home success for
the second year in a row as Meglapetes won the
trophy which Csabagyongye claimed last year. They
defeated Bozeat All Stars 3-0 in the Plate Final.
The
personal award went to Les 5 Salopard's Yanick
Jista who finsihed top goalscorer with 7 goals.
Congratulations to everyone who took part and
ensured the day was a huge success! |
